I told you around this time last year about a stalker that was harrassing Tyler Perry. I assumed it was either one of Tyler’s alter egos or Mr. Brown. Well… I was wrong! Meet Dawne Wilson, the woman who can’t get Tyler off of her mind. Dawne was arrested for aggravated stalking Wednesday outside Perry’s production studios in Atlanta ~ a place where she’s been an unwelcome visitor many times before, after she violated a restraining order that Tyler had placed back in March 2008.
According to court documents, Dawne Wilson began contacting Tyler by sending crazy “A”zz emails last year. The restraining order also states that she did so “in a menacing manner,” causing Perry to fear “apprehension of immediately receiving a violent injury.” Wilson sent another e-mail saying in April, 2008 stating, “You need to check your heart condition because it is filled with murder….your love has been but costly and deadly….Murder I say is the verdict.” she rambled on, “Why do you insist on assisting the devil?” (Source)
This chick is wayyy past crazy!<~~ Can you say “coo coo for cocoa puffs!”
Fresh off the success of his current film release, Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail (which grossed over $41 million opening weekend), Perry is already planning a quick escape from the madness of Hollywood. Recently, the 39 year old bachelor confirmed to People Magazine that for his 40th birthday (September 14th) he plans to join the ranks of David Copperfield and Mel Gibson with the purchase of the ultimate getaway. A tropical island paradise!
“I’m a loner by nature, so when I’m out there on these islands, I just feel like the only person in the world,”
After recently spending a week vacationing on a private island in the Great Exumas in the Bahamas, he admits it’s not all relaxation: “Renting an island is the best place for me to work uninterrupted.”
What will he call his own private isle? “It won’t be Tyler Perry’s Island!” he laughs. “I’m so sick of seeing Tyler Perry all over everywhere!”
Instead, he’ll wait until he’s inspired by the exotic locale, which he hasn’t quite decided on yet. “It’ll speak to me,” he says. “I’ll know what to call it once I’m there.”
I’m sitting here wondering what would possibly go on on TP’s island paradise. Will there be tons of Madea-esque drag queens struttin around smoking cigarettes in bikini’s or sexy island mami’s catering to his every whim? Hmmmm? *scratching head* We’ll never know…cause Tyler’s already imposed one rule before he’s even signed the closing documents… No paparazzi! So I guess we’ll just have to either wait for an invite or use our imagination…
Have fun Tyler! Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail is in theatres now.
See all those workers in the background above? Well apparently they’re still waiting for a check! It’s been reported that super-producer Tyler Perry has accumulated at least 6 liens combined on his personal home and mega movie studio. The Atlanta-based producer is accused of amounting unpaid bills from the two projects that total slightly less than $200,000 and says the costs are “ridiculously unfair” and amount to extortion.
The contractors allege Perry refused to pay their final bills either for no apparent reason or because their work met with his arbitrary disapproval. They say he ordered work redone on impulse, deciding he wouldn’t like the stones purchased for an outdoor fountain, for instance, or deeming newly planted trees too short. “He wanted to do it his way,” said Brooks Hilton, a landscaping contractor who said Perry owes him $17,635. “He wouldn’t take any advice. I guess in Hollywood it works that way, but not in real life.”
Perry, though, said he withheld payment only for shoddy work or for undocumented charges and then only for a handful of the dozens of construction companies he hired. Even those, he said, still got paid hundreds of thousands of dollars each before he dismissed them. He sees the contractors’ complaints as a form of extortion and as part of the burden of celebrity. “There’s a Tyler Perry tax that’s put on things,”
Check out a few of Madea’s mugshots from over the years. It appears she’s been in the crime database for quite some time now. Tyler Perry is a plum FOOL!
Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail hits theaters February 20th.
Tyler Perry’s Fairburn, Georgia mansion has been on the market for quite some time now…but don’t fret! It could be yours for a little less than $3.7 million dollars. The home, featured in TP’s first feature film, “Diary of a Mad Black Woman,” was vacated a while back due to his lack of privacy after all you ATLiens found out the address and started doing drive-bys in the middle of the night. Tyler wants out, so he’s reduced the price so that one of you mini-ballers can live the fabulous life:
That same description sold me on my first home….well, minus the 6 bedrooms and 6.5 baths…and the theatre, study and pool. Actually, the only line that sold me was the “minutes from the airport” part, I had no idea that “minutes from the airport” would mean “hours to work”….but you live and you learn. *shrugs* Imagine…I traded all that to be near a Dillards and to fight crackheads over my mail. The travesty!
DMX’s home is also on the market…and is selling for a lot less, partially because it was raided by the police (they blew off the front door) and has since been ransacked by thieves. The foreclosed Phoenix, AZ home of the embattled rapper was purchased for over $600,000 and is now being sold at $429,900. Offers are only being accepted through Tuesday, January 6th, so ummmm if you’re in the market…check out a few flix and a tour of his crib under the cut: (more…)
Tyler Perry (pictured above with date, actress Gelila Bekele) kicked off the grand opening of his 200,000 sq. foot/30 acre Tyler Perry Studios facility in southwest Atlanta Saturday night. The formal affair attracted thousands of who’s who as local celebs rubbed elbows with worldwide stars.
Hollywood legends Sidney Poitier, Cicely Tyson, Ruby Dee and Louis Gossett Jr. gathered with Oprah Winfrey, Hank and Billye Aaron, Andrew and Carolyn Young, Will Smith, Barry Bonds and others to celebrate the first major television and movie studio owned and run by an African-American film producer.
Oscar winner Sidney Poiter christened the studio’s opening as several members of the writer’s guild picketed outside.
I saw this trailer the other day when I went to see The Family That Preys. Preys was a great movie and I hate to admit it but I cried. Yes…me. Anyway, TP has given up the afro wig and traded it back for Madea’s golden locks. Y’all know you miss Madea! No matter what you say about it, you’re going to see it anyway. So stop complaining and just give Tyler all your money…
