I caught up with Killer Mike to capture his Old School Atlanta Memory on tape a few weeks ago. I was expecting the same ole same ole, a’la tales of Freaknik and/or Greenbriar Mall but what I got was Mike’s XXX memories of The Foxy Lady strip club and funny tales of Piedmont Park. It gets no better than this!
Funny how all this time has passed and Killer Mike is still thinking about sex all day… Dontcha just love those A-Town men
Rick Ross‘ listening session for “Deeper Than Rap” was held last night at Artistry and the drinks and music flowed freely. I don’t really follow that whole Rick Ross/50 Cent thing so I decided to chill on the interview tip and let the other sites take care of that. I did however catch up with Killer Mike and Rocko, who both kept me more than entertained throughout the evening! We ended up turning the session into an ATL lovefest
Check out my video footage from the event below:
Side Note: Can somebody tell me if Rick Ross represents Malibu in some way? He shouted out “Malibu and Pineapple” all night long….
I was feeling a bit nostalgic and wanted to post Killer Mike’s “A.D.I.D.A.S.” as today’s flashback but noticed I already had it in the archives, so my compromise is Outkast’s “The Whole World” which features Killer Mike.
The “A”’s own Killer Mike joined Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, Q-Tip and Michaela Angela Davis joined All Hip Hop’s social discussion panel on Hip Hop and Politics. Killer Mike lit up the discussion with strong advice to young Black men to vote. His tip? Shut up, listen to your elders and stop listening to dumb rappers! He also advised politicians that they should use the resources that the dumb rappers use to reach the dumb people that listen to them…LMAO. Tell em Mike!
BTW…NecoleBitchie will be participating in the next AHH panel on Hip Hop & Politics tomorrow afternoon at CAU. Can’t wait to see NB show out!
Big Boi chopped it up with DJ Envy about his upcoming project, “Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty” which he expects to be released at the end of September (or so). Big Boi was asked about his relationship with Andre 3000 and he says that they are still cool, “..my brother from another mother.” When he was asked about the Killer Mike confrontation all hell broke loose. I’m still tryna figure out how Killer Mike coulda pulled out a gun and still get punched in the face. Peep the video under the cut: (more…)
Wow…this video is that fire! Killer Mike ain’t playin this time and collaborating with Ice Cube…What! This is some real comeback fire right here…and Killer Mike’s album, “I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II” is scheduled to drop tomorrow. Perfect timing.
Trina’s music is like crack…after that first hit, the feeling has never been the same…but you listen anyway! Different song, same lyrics…Can’t blame the girl for trying.
