Cee-Lo Green is a soul machine! He’s also part of a multi-million dollar global Coca-Cola ad campaign with Travis McCoy, Brendon Urie, Patrick Stomp and Janelle Monae. As part of the promotion, Cee-Lo’s smiling mug will be featured on Coke cans across the globe and in ads featuring the new song “Open Happiness” which you can hear above. The promotion is part of an overall deal between Coca-Cola and Warner Music. Enjoy!
“A” town favorite, Cee-Lo Green took over the controls to try out the new version of Nintendo’s WII Music video game. He looked like he was having a blast and almost made me want one. Funny thing is, my first thought was “Dayum…all the fake MySpace producers are gonna have a blast with this one.” I predict a top seller.
Atlanta’s newest hotel held it’s grand opening celebration Friday night. The W Hotel – Midtown is Atlanta’s 2nd of the brand and there are two others planned by 2009.
Frits van Paasschen, chief executive officer of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide — the hotel chain that owns the W brand has determined that Atlanta has four distinct hotel markets, and W wanted to have a share in each.
1. Perimeter caters to residential and shopping,
2. Buckhead grabs the business crowd and the well-heeled looking to drop cash at Lenox Square Mall and Phipps Plaza.
3. Midtown is where celebrities come to party and lawyers entertain their clients,
4. Downtown attracts conventioneers.
I can honestly understand their marketing ploy, but the bar is what attracted the celebs Friday night. Spotted at the opening were Big Boi, Atlanta Falcon’s Ovi Mughelli, V-103’s Ryan Cameron, Jazze Pha, Cee-Lo and several others. Even Tomeka Foster’s ex-hubby Ryan Glover joined in on all the fun and free liquor. I sure The Whiskey Bar (located inside the W Hotel – Midtown) will now be one of the many after work spots that attract Atlanta’s local elite. Can’t wait to try it next week…
Goodie Mob’s “Guess Who” was written as an ode to hardworking mothers everywhere. I couldn’t let this day pass without posting this song but since no video was ever made, you’ll just have to use your imagination (or just listen to the words like in the olden days). You youngsters who don’t remember Cee-lo before he hooked up with Danger Mouse need to take notes. This ish right here was the joint!
The hottest Odd Couple ever hit up MTV’s TRL the other day! Danger Mouse and Cee-Lo Green (the duo now known as Gnarls Barkley) stopped by the show to promote their newest CD, “The Odd Couple.”
One of my favorite of many successful ATLiens, Cee-lo, will be gracing the cover of The Source magazine’s June 2008 cover (along with Danger Mouse). I know it’s Gnarls Barkley dammit…but I’m still hoping for a Goodie Mob reunion!
SandraRose really brightened my day this morning! T.I. and Tiny were spotted out in the “A” last night after serving his first day of court ordered community service. Tip and Tiny attended photographer Derek Blanks’ Alter Ego event last night along with several other A-list celebs. In case you’re confused, the media got it wrong last week when they reported that T.I. would remain under house arrest. According to his attorneys, the rapper is free to go anywhere he wants, however he needs court approval to attend certain industry events, and he has to adhere to a strict curfew. Love it!
Where were THESE attorneys when Michael Vick needed em?? Click Here to check out more flix from the event. Side Note ~ Cee-Lo looked a H.A.M.! Way too much Black & White on a Black male… *smh*
