Antwan “Big Boi’ Patton and Mary J. Blige sit beside Reynoldstown neighborhood resident Paris Rhoden, 44, who used the services of Resources for Resources and Communities to find a place to live. Blige and Big Boi were part of a foreclosure seminar in Atlanta on Saturday, April 18, 2009 as part of the “Bringing Hope Home” tour to prevent foreclosure.

“Anything they need from me, I’m here,” said Big Boi, fellow ATLien and half of the duo OutKast. “I’d see all these boarded up houses and think ‘What’s going on?

The tour of hard-hit cities, including Newark, Miami and Cleveland, made Atlanta its second stop. During stops in Reynoldstown, Kirkwood and downtown, celebs and counselors warned about for-profit counseling scams and urged people to call free resource centers. The number of calls from Georgians to the Hope hotline more than doubled in 2008.

“It’s free help, it’s confidential,” said Suzanne Boas, president of the Atlanta non-profit Consumer Credit Counseling Service, a service that handles hotline calls and local counseling. “You really don’t need to feel embarrassed — you do need to reach out.” (More)

The bright blue and yellow Bringing Hope Home tour bus rolled through Atlanta over the weekend plastered with number of the hotline for the foreclosure prevention group Hope Now Alliance, based in Washington, D.C. Big Boi and his son Cross sat down for a few seconds after Easter to let all y’all know the album is finally finished. He’s been working on his “Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty” masterpiece for almost two years now, has recorded over 100 songs, but chose the best for his new solo effort.  He also announces he’s finally on twitter even though he hasn’t quite got the hang of it yet.

Smooth like a hot comb on nappy “A”zzzz hair!

I caught up with Antwan ‘Big Boi’ Patton the other night and told him about my Old School Atlanta Memory (O.S.A.M.) project and my desire to capture them all on film. Of course Twan was down for the cause and we stepped outside the club for a mini trip down memory lane.  I was expecting tales of Freaknic (as almost everyone has a Freaknic tale to tell) but what I GOT was an old school hustler tale of chillin on Simpson Road’s Charles Disco.  Check it out below:

My favorite ATLien, Antwan “Big Boi” Patton was spotted in the studio with B.o.B. recently. B.o.B is mad talented and his flow is sick! Can’t wait to hear what they came up with that day.  Also, I dunno if y’all heard or not, but Ludacris and Big Boi’s Inaugural Ball never took place.  The Urban Ball as well as several others were cancelled due to poor ticket sales. I guess there were way too may balls to choose from.  Anywhoo…Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty is gonna be fire and I CAN”T WAIT! Hurry up dammit!!!
