It’s clear the the ‘BeyHive’ is obsessed with revealing the identity of “Becky with the good hair,” but apparently one ‘Becky’ is officially denying her involvement in Beyonce & Jay-Z’s marital strife.
As you know, designer Rachel Roy was first on the list to be dragged by Queen B’s fans as one of Jay-Z’s extramarital affairs mentioned in the Lemonade track “Sorry”.
Whether the track is autobiographical or not is up for debate, but that hasn’t stopped fans from trying to piece together who the lyric is referencing.
Well after receiving a royal dragging which included a rather hilarious wiki page edit, Rachel Roy has issued an official statement of denial.
Details + read Rachel’s statement below…
Rachel Roy, longtime friend & ex-employee of Beyonce’s husband, Jay Z and ex-wife of the rapper’s former business partner, Damon Dash, who endured three days of intense speculation that began with her now-deleted Instagram post, is finally speaking out.
On Tuesday, Rachel Roy released a statement to People officially denying that she’s ‘Becky with the good hair’.
In the statement, Roy says she was merely joking when she referenced ‘good hair’ in her instagram post and says that rumors of her hooking up with Beyonce’s husband are all false.
“I want to put the speculation and rumors to rest. My Instagram post was meant to be fun and lighthearted, it was misunderstood as something other than that,” she said. “There is no validity to the idea that the song references me personally. There is no truth to the rumors.”
Roy, 42, continued: “Consequently, online haters have targeted me and my daughters in a hurtful and scary manner, including physical threats. As a mother – and I know many mothers would agree – I feel that bullying in any form is harmful and unacceptable.
“I would hope that the media sees the real issue here – the issue of cyber bullying – and how it should not be tolerated by anyone,” she said. (source)
Interesting. I wonder what took her so long to deny it?? Whatever the case, the ‘Beehive’ still stinging Roy’s instagram.
Meanwhile, Rita Ora is next up on the growing ‘Becky’ list and the Beehive has several receipts on her (click HERE if you missed that).
