Many ‘fragile’ right wingers like Fox network and New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani immediately took issue with the pop singer’s powerful declaration of black pride during the performance, which featured dancers in Black Panthers-style outfits.
Mike took the opportunity to explain to all of the ‘fragile’ White minds upset over Beyonce’s performance that it’s not always about them!
“White people, it’s not always about you,” the Run the Jewels MC said, pointing to the track’s early verses about being a proud black woman. “She’s talking to other black people … that conversation wasn’t even for you.”
Mike also emphasized how the history taught is not always accurate, explaning that The Black Panther organization wasn’t just comprised of and concerned with black people. “It was a socialist group for any downtrodden people.”

Killer Mike came to Queen Bey’s defense during a recent appearance on Real Time with Bill Maher, explaining that most of the things White people found offensive about the song weren’t even directed toward them.
“Speaking of White slight and White fragility…. WHITE PEOPLE IT”S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT YOU!
What I mean by that is… She (Beyonce)’s talking to other Black people saying, ‘look stupid, because I’m not at Ferguson when you want me to be doesn’t mean I sold you out’.
And then the rest of the first verse is about her telling other Black people, ‘I like being Black. This is the type of Black I am. I like the fact my daughter’s Black. I like my old Michael Jackson nose, I like my child with an afro…I LIKE ME’
White people, that conversation wasn’t even for you.
As for Beyonce using the reference to ‘Black Power’ and The Black Panther party, Killer Mike even tries to school ‘the people’ about the Black Panthers organization, stating:
The history they teach you in White school is not exactly right.
The Black Panthers where called the ‘Black’ panthers but they weren’t just pro-Black people. There was even an Asian Black Panther.
The Black Panthers were a socialist group for any downtrodden people and at that time it happened to be Blacks but they spoke to ALL people.
Fred Hampton was 21 years old and when he talked about educating the PEOPLE and not just Black people.
