It doesn’t take much to be racially profiled in Georgia but one young rapper found out the hard way that being ‘legit’ doesn’t really matter when you’re young Black and rich.
A young rapper was detained by Atlanta Police last Friday (January 8, 2016) after withdrawing a large amount of cash from the local Wells Fargo.
Sam Benson, who goes by the stage name Blac Youngsta, says he’s a millionaire and he definitely had enough in his account to withdraw $200,000 to buy a new luxury sedan, but police handcuffed him outside of the branch anyway.

Blac Youngsta and his entourage stopped by an Atlanta Wells Fargo Friday afternoon to withdraw money to purchase a Mercedes-Maybach S600 (worth $189,000), but he was thwarted due ‘mistaken identity’. After making a $200,000 withdrawal from his bank, Blac Youngsta says he was confronted by police with their guns drawn and was physically detained and handcuffed… all while telling authorities it was HIS MONEY!
Apparently someone in the bank confused the 25-year-old performer for a wanted fraudster cashing in on bogus checks and the rapper was detained according to a description provided by a witness who placed a 911 call.
According to authorities, someone inside the bank called 911 reporting that a man was attempting to forge a check for $24,000.
The caller provided a description of the person that was “limited and conflicting,” and also relayed the possible vehicle he was riding in, which just so happened to match the model of the whip Blac Youngsta was riding in.
“It was quickly discovered that the person providing the description to police had provided the wrong description of the suspect,” Sgt. Warren Pickard wrote in an emailed statement to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
“It was determined that the occupants of the vehicle were not involved. They were immediately released.”
The alleged check forger, was actually 39-year-old Charles Darnell Edward, who was later arrested and charged.
“This incident did not directly involved Blac Youngsta, nor was he accused of committing a crime,” Pickard said.
Despite being cleared of any wrong doing, Blac was rightfully pissed and hit the ‘gram to post a video about the incident:
