A woman who had just taken an STD test received the shock of her life when she found out her test results had been posted on a Facebook page entitled ‘Team No Hoes’…

VIDEO: News Coverage: Woman Sues After Hospital Posts STD Status on Facebook

According to a report on WLWT-TV News:

An Ohio woman is suing the University of Cincinnati Medical Center after her medical records were posted to a Facebook group called ‘Team No Hoes.’

The unnamed woman found her medical information on ‘Team No Hoes’ after she went to the hospital to get screened for a sexually transmitted disease.

The private Facebook group named the woman as a “slut” and “hoe” and publicised the fact that she had tested positively for an STD. The post also featured identifying information.

The woman is now suing the hospital for over $25,000 in damages.

Her lawyer, Mike Allen, says that the woman is absolutely devastated, and that the events have had significant consequences upon her life.

“She doesn’t want to go out”, he said, “She doesn’t want to talk to people. People who were formerly her friends have made fun of her for it. She’s chastised in the community and all of this could’ve been avoided if UC Med Center had proper protections in place.”

The hospital is aware of the lawsuit but is making no comments at this time.

“We have not received a copy of the lawsuit but we will certainly investigate it and we cannot comment on pending litigation,” UC Medical Center spokeswoman Diana Lara said.

  Sad… your confidential info is no laughing matter. .. The whole staff because of a few horrible employees failed this woman miserably. She should be compensated in a huge way and find the entire staff hospital and whomever else responsible for her misery. . She honestly should sue them all individually and collectively. .. sending a strong message to all who ever tried doing it again. A crying shame!!!! So sorry and sad for her ….she was trying to deal with her issue and here it is being publicized for the world to see … she sure as hell didn´t ask for this publicity.

  If she is already being treated (hence being tested), how is posting her information saving her life? And the Health Department doesn’t post your medical status, or call you garden tool even if you test positive for 10 diseases.

  HIPPA Laws in place to ensure patients right to privacy will not violated. So you are darn tootin! She is right to sue…the hospital, the hospital employee, hospital nurse, the person who posted it and Facebook for allowing the post to post. In the past, FB has blocked me from posting too many posts within a day so I know damn well they could have acted more responsibly here too.
