In news you probably already know, news anchor Robin Roberts is gay.

While it’s not that big of a deal these days, the long-standing host of Good Morning America, publicly acknowledged her relationship with a woman for the first time via a message posted to her Facebook page yesterday (December 29, 2013).

The Facebook posting comes on the first anniversary of the 100th day of Robert’s recovery from the bone marrow transplant she underwent in 2012 to treat a rare blood disorder called myelodysplastic syndrome.

CNN reports that Robert’s friends and co-workers already knew the news, but her year end facebook post is her first public acknowledgement of the relationship.

In the post, Robert’s thanks friends and family for helping her through her health crisis, and she also mentions her ‘long-time girlfriend Amber’….

Ok… so who’s next to bust out the closet? Queen Latifah? DaBrat? Dee Pimpin? Seriously… why confirm what the world already knows? and who really cares anyway?
