Leakes apparently heard about my statement in the last RHOA recap about how dayum near everyone on the season 6 cast has been Mynique (pronounced MO-nique) Smith‘s husband, Ex NFL baller Chuck Smith, at some point over the past 20 years.

  What memories…thank you…and for the laugh! Mama had a big can of Crisco on our stove for at least ten (10) years! She put fish, porkchop, bacon, and every other kind of grease in it. When she ordered me to cook sausage for breakfast while she went to summer school, I poured that in there, too! After all us kids left home and Daddy had a couple of strokes (more, actually, but he fought back and healed), she finally threw it out…and started another big can of Crisco…I think when they moved into the new house he built her, she carried that can and it was probably there till the day she died. I agree, Greg does look greasy, kinda like a fat Flava Flav. (Sorry, Nene)

  Yall are right in your own right…BUT Nene says he makes her happy and she does look like she’s got her "happy" back(I’m sure that prenup had a lot to do with it)). But while yall talkin’ bout cookin’…kin anybody offer me some advice on how to cook down home blackeyed peas and smoked turkey? I substituted turkey for hamhocks. Hamhocks were delicious as a child but being well grown I just can’t do pig. Question is "do I put smoked turkey together with peas just out of package and what seasoning do I use or will turkey season peas? Do I add onions? Please help me, I don’t know how to cook and want to please mother with a New Years dinner. Do I make mashed potatoes or potato salad? Rolls or stuffing? Never had to cook much.

  @ck, talk about memories ! My sister and I had our hardest belly laugh because all of my Bigmama’s kids had her a house built. Everyone helped with the move. ! My uncles carried the heavy stuff and we carried stuff like books,and pictures ,etc.We were real young.The only thing my Bigmama had in her hands was THAT CAN OF LARD ( is what she called it ) . We laugh about it to this day .she held that grease like it was a family keep sake!!!!lmbo thanks for the laugh !

  @Versatile, I have always cooked my black eyed peas with ham hocks or bacon. I’m sure turkey would be good too . I’m just not much of a turkey fan.Be careful with the seasoning. A reasonable amount of Lawrys seasoning salt with a taste of black pepper .Don’t over power the taste of the peas.i have only put whole fresh okra in peas.never onion . We always did whole green onion on the side.Definitely potato salad instead of mashed potatoes. I hope this helps.Good luck.Im sure your Mom will enjoy it !!

  @versatile boil the turkey (wings is what I use) first then and the blackeyed peas (if the peas are raw you have to pick through them. Make sure there aren’t any rocks or chunks of dirt, then rinse them.) Let cook until the peas are tender. Season the turkey with seasoned salt such as Lawry’s. I only put onions in pinto beans but you can add them if you like.
  
  I can’t help you with the stuffing(I am assuming you’re talking about stove top stuffing), I cook dressing and would never cook it with beans. I’m not a fan of potato salad but it will do. corn bread or hot water bread would be better than rolls…..much better.

  Mynique and Chuck have not been married for 20 years. It’s more like 13-15 years. I don’t think Chuck’s daughter is with Mynique.

  If I was Chucks wife I would move out of Georgia. I know we all have others in our lives before we marry but I will be darned that I would want to have to live with it in my face every day and you know darn well ole Chuck from what he says wasted no time. you have Nene, Phaedra and Kandi and they are all different ages so there is still rest of the town yet and area. Gross.
