Newsflash! That comeback that TLC was planning may take a lil longer than expected.
Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas and Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins are currently rehearsing and preparing to hit the stage for a huge performance at the America Music Awards this week, but the may have gotten some bad news earlier today.
Word on the curb is that the resurrected 90’s girl group just got dropped from their label (Epic Records) and insiders say Pebbles may be the blame!
TLC signed a fresh deal with Epic back in July to release their greatest hits compilation, 20, and new single, “Meant To Be.”
In October, TLC confirmed to MTV that they were working on a new studio album with L.A. Reid, due for release in early 2014, and a couple of days after that, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story premiered on VH1 to record ratings.
As you know, Pebbles has been on the warpath since she was portrayed as a ‘money grubbing’ visionary who launched the girls of TLC into superstardom back in the 90’s.
Pebbles is NOT happy right now and has even accused Chilli of bumping skins with her then husband, LA Reid, who coincidentally, is now the head of Epic TLC’s new label.
Pebbles appeared on The Wendy Williams Show last week and it seems her daughter Ashley Reid, feels the same about the group.
According to RWS:
LA Reid quietly resigned TLC to Epic Records this past summer but a TLC fan page just broke the news that the duo had been dropped.
When a fan asked if Pebbles had anything to do with it, the answer was yes.
