RECAP: Preachers of LA Episode #5 – Bishop Jones Catches Flack For His 16 Year Relationship With Loretta… [WATCH FULL VIDEO]

Preachers of L.A.‘s 5th episode aired last night (November 6, 2013) and Noel Jones, who was noticeably absent from episode 4, is one of the featured cast members.

This week Bishop Jones and his girlfriend, Loretta Jones, are the main topic of conversation amongst the preachers and everyone on the show seems eager to see them get married… everyone except Jones himself.

While the two have been ‘friends’ for 16 years, Jones hasn’t made any moves toward the altar and everyone around him is giving him the side-eye.

Jones blames his travel schedule on his decision not to tie the knot, plus he has a lot of unresolved personal issues (i.e. his daughter by x-factor’s Stacey Francis)

VIDEO: Preachers of LA (Episode #5)

The preachers all gather at Bishop Jones’ house for the 4th of July and Loretta prepares a huge spread for the crew.

Bishop Ron Gibson feels that he can convince Jones to have a ‘monopoly on monogamy’ and invites Bishop Noel Jones to gamble on his heart.

In a ‘friendly’ game of pool, Gibson poses a hefty wager: If he wins, Jones has to marry Loretta. 😯

Bishop Ron Gibson: “That woman is physically beautiful, mentally intelligent, loves him to the core. My common sense along with the inspiration of the holy spirit told me that you wont find a woman better than that one.”

Bishop Noel Jones: “Sometimes it’s not as easy as it seems. I’m running around preaching everywhere. Do I want the chance of ruining a marvelous friendship with marriage?! At the end of the day the decision has to be mine.

  I watch this show with the same understanding as any other "reality" show…it’s entertainment. I don’t get all excited that these men are preachers. They are just men. People should know the word for their own understanding and not put their belief in any man.

  My name is Shirley Morgan. I recently retired from Los Angeles County. I have had first hand experience with separation of church and state. What happened is that during the week I would help poverty stricken families in the project and on the week-ends I would walk the streets with my C.O.G.i.C church. The job said it was a conflict of interest. Macurmita Wilson you says its a shameless scam. In the bible it also report that God will hold the leaders to a higher standard.I worked and frequent the same area as Ron. Like Ms. Sallie reported " Only what you do for christ will last". God does’nt need any of us to fight his battles. Have any of you visted skid row lately and observed all the homeless people on the streets. If the preachers of L.A want to help God’s people start there. I recently wrote a book and its called. " If you only knew bought the shoes bought the hat. It can be purchased at amazon.com. There are several preacher who just want to do the will of god.For example. Rodney and Donald friend. Ed Robinson. Oh its a lot of saint that I have tarried with. Tarried is when you pray and get result. This is a international pray. Lord in the name of jesus. God I’m asking that you look upon the just and unjust have mercy God. God look upon child welfare, the poor and homeless.Touch all these preachers and send them down to skid row and help families in Jesus name.

  Well I don’t think Loretta is a fool. she is a classy lady. Her and noel have been friends for years. Can’t two people be best friends that are of the opposite sex? Noel wants to do his own thing, so what is wrong with him being single and a minister? Nothing. I really do see from the episodes that, Noel really does not want to let Loretta "GO". He never said to her in the show that she should find someone to make her happy. I really think he is stringing her along. He has a best friend that he does not want to lose to another man.

  Lisa your right, Loretta is NOT a fool, but her behavior is FOOLISH. Bishop Jones is probably providing a very comfortable life for her behind the scenes (money, car, home etc.). Paying the rent in this world today is acquired by any means necessary and that means you sacrifice yourself respect, then so be it. many woman, sit on the sidelines for years behind a man, just waiting for him to pay attention to her, while watching him with other women, even marrying the another woman. Loretta is no different, he will marry, but it won’t be Loretta, probably a celebrity or a white woman.

  I think the bishop knows something about Loretta Jones that no one else knows. Maybe he sees something in her that no one else can see. Personally I used to live with Loretta, she was my stepmother and back in the days she wasn’t this nice quiet person. She treated me & my siblings terrible, while treating her two children Crystal & Byron like royalty. She ruined me & my sibling short relationship with our father by making him choose between us or her, he chosed us but abused and abandon us as a result of her influence. They continued to date & I grew up in foster care and was shocked when this show aired, making her look like this Angel, because she is far from that. The bishop should continue speaking the word of GOD and find a real Christian wife, because he is having doubts for a reason.
