A few weeks ago, Bishop T.D. Jakes basically ‘rebuked’ the new reality show, while his friend, Preachers of L.A.’s Noel Jones dismissed his participation as a willingness to show that Preachers are people too.
While many feel the show is entertaining, some thing the Preachers all made a bad choice simply due to the fact that reality shows are known to expose ‘real life’ reality (whether you plan to reveal all or not).
Haddon, who is no stranger to controversy, admits that he expected the public’s response.
You don’t do something so aggressive and so unconventional and bold, and don’t expect any negative feedback from it, because it is something that has never been done before.
He also specifically addressed Jakes’ criticism, throwing a lil Preacher shade in the Bishop’s direction.

In an interview with Darlene McCoy at the Praise 102.5 / 102.9, Haddon
[AUDIO: Deitrick Haddon’s Full Interview]
I have the absolute utmost respect for Bishop TD Jakes and what he represents. I considered him one of our generals in this generation.
I was a bit taken back and shocked when I saw his view on the show, being that he’s a forefather in unorthodox, unconventional methods of sharing the Gospel, whether it be through MegaFest or partnering with comedians or Oprah.
Haddon also emphasized the importance of the program, saying this is an opportunity to produce more faith-based, good and clean television on mainstream. He also reminded the naysayers of the fact that people can do things wrongs, but still be able to stand up again by the grace of God.
“Some times the negativity can drown out the positivity. It is amazing how you can do a million things right, but folk, people, focus on one thing is wrong.”
Hmmm…. Haddon may have a point.. what do y’all think?
