Chris ‘Mac Daddy’ Kelly of the iconic rap group Kris Kross passed away on May 1, 2013 at the young age of 34.
Paramedics found Kelly unresponsive on a living room couch in his Southwest Atlanta home and tried to resuscitate him but he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
It had been suspected that the 90s hip hop star died of a drug overdose and an odd 911 call released shortly after the young rapper’s death, didn’t do much to quell those suspicions (click HERE if you missed that).

Sadly the cause of Chris Kelly’s untimely death has been confirmed by a medical examiner.
According to police reports Chris had been using a combination of cocaine and heroin.
A toxicology screening revealed that Kelly, 34, had a mixture of drugs in his system when he was pronounced dead on May 1, said Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office in Atlanta.
Honey said she did not know which specific drugs Kelly had used before his death. However, a police report from the night of Kelly’s death said his mother told investigators her son used cocaine and heroin the night before he died and had a history of drug abuse. (source)
