One of Usher Raymond‘s long time nanny’s, Cecilia Duncan (pictured above with Usher & Tameka’s youngest son, Naviyd), has filed a lawsuit against the superstar crooner claiming he refused to pay her!
Coincidentally, Usher and Tameka battled over his refusal to pay his wife’s nanny’s during their vicious child custody battle last year, but he was finally held in contempt of their previous arrangement and had to eventually cough up the back pay.
Now it’s deja vu all over again as Usher faces a similar battle with one of his own trusted staff members.
While most parents who have the means to hire a professional to care for their children rarely baulk at the idea of paying for such services, Usher has reportedly refused to cut the check for Duncan’s overtime AND if working for free wasn’t enough… he allegedly FIRED the nanny for inquiring about her overtime pay!
According to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Cecilia Duncan claims that the hitmaker hired her as a part-time nanny in December, 2010, but she regularly worked much longer hours to care for the star’s two sons, Usher Raymond V, five, and Naviyd Ely, four.
Duncan says in the suit that she often worked over 40 hours a week and is now suing the singer after he terminated her.
In the lawsuit, Cecilia says she felt like she was being overworked without being paid proper overtime and she expressed her concerns to Usher in 2011.
Usher allegedly ignored her complaints for well over a year and finally fired her September 2012 without paying her the overtime money owed.
Duncan is suing Usher for wrongful termination, failure to pay wages, and more… and demands unspecified damages (which sources close to the lawsuit reveal could be somewhere in the six-figure range.)
Usher’s camp responded to news of the suit stating: “this is a frivolous lawsuit and all the allegations made by the former nanny are completely false.”
Uh oh… who’s going to take care of the kids if there are no nanny’s around?? SMH…
