The funeral was held for Chris ‘Mac Daddy’ Kelly of Kris Kross fame in Atlanta, Georgia yesterday (May 9, 2013).
Kelly’s family, friends and fans all payed their respects to the fallen hip-hop legend and many of Atlanta’s music industry insiders attended the funeral services, which was held at Jackson Memorial Baptist Church.
Jermaine Dupri, Chris “Daddy Mac” Smith, Michael Mauldin, Da Brat and more all paid homage to their friend and several wore their pants backwards in recognition of the trend Kris Kross made famous.

As reported earlier, Kelly died on May 1 at the age of 34 after being found unresponsive by his mother in his Southwest Atlanta home.

That outfit is VERY upsetting. She’s not that silly, she’s not that hood-minded…or is she? At least JD’s jeans were used to represent the Kris Kross brand (backwards) and he didn’t even go all out with it and put on a cross-color shirt, he still had sense enough to put a blazer and tie on.
Whatever. I’m just glad Mac Daddy’s passing was acknowledged, I thought they were very talented young boys who got a raw deal when the JD brand/label started to crumble.

It’s a funeral, not a club. Social norms are practically non existent nowadays.
The reporters are interviewing people like they’re on the red carpet. Looks like some of these hip hop has beens are more concerned about the media spotlight than paying their respects to an artist who was taken from us too early. The only notable people keeping their dignity and showing actual respect, seem to be Dupri and Smith. This is someone’s funeral. Not the music awards. Why is Tiny getting interviewed? Come on T.I. Society has changed, people don’t even dress up to go to church to worship God anymore. If they don’t dress up to go to church they will dress down the same for Funerals not saying its right or wrong but it’s a change in our time. We just need to be happy people showed up to express their love and respect. It’s nt about the outfit or attire it’s about the respect.

-And the video being shown around is apparently from 2010 and not the day he passed, so that clears up the confusion of why the mom is saying she brought him home and the video shows him at home.
