BET’s hit show “The Game” returns for it’s 6th season later this month with Ciara making a cameo appearance during the first episode.
You may recall that there was a whole lot going on with the popular television show last year after the show’s main character, Tia Mowry was fired (or quit depending on who you ask). BET then searched for a younger couple to replace Mowry and Pooch Hall (Derwin Davis), who also departed during the finale.

The search ended with Lauren London and another new comer named Jay Ellis, who will join the cast as Keira Whitaker and Bryce “Blue” Westbrook.

“The Game” returns to the airwaves on March 26th with a special one-hour premiere on BET, which is plenty of time to introduce a few new characters.
As stated earlier in the post, Girl Melanie has departed the land of the Sabers, leaving her open Sunbeam spot for Lauren London to fill.
Derwin Davis (Pooch Hall) gets traded during the first episode and newcomer Bryce “Blue” Westbrook (Jay Ellis) steps into his spot.

Here’s a break down of the 6th season of “The Game”:
The season five finale ended with Tasha Mack (Wendy Raquel Robinson) in love, but will this love last forever when former flame Rick Fox returns to her life?
Meanwhile, newlyweds Jason (Coby Bell) and Chardonnay (Brandy Norwood) are very much in love, but will Jason’s job get in the way of their honeymoon bliss?
Tempted by his past demons, Malik is Malik 2.0 this year, but will he stay on track and maintain his sobriety?
All this and more will be revealed in the new season of THE GAME.

IDK about this new season.They will really have to step up their "GAME" as they let many fans down last season. I didn’t like it when they got rid of Kelly, and I’m def not happy with Derwin and Melanie leaving. How do you get rid of the main characters? SMH

I don’t want to sound so pessimistic, but I feel as though BET is holding on to a show that should’ve been to put to rest a few seasons ago. Since "The Game" was brought back after fans asked for it, instead of doing the smart thing and keeping/hiring the old writers, BET ruined what could’ve been a really successful and promising show. But I’m not surprised, BET’s ‘original’ shows (scripted and nonscripted) aren’t usually the best anyway. I just hope that maybe this time they’ve got it right, needless to say, I won’t be watching this season lol

@Aye… The writers are the same, everything is the same from when they were on CW. Writers, wardrobe, makeup, hair, everything is the same. The problem is BET. From their cheap looking set and the way they watered down the writing.
BET is in midst of changing their image. So in the midst of this change they watered down "The Game" script greatly. Watch an old episode of the show and watch it now HUGE DIFFERENCE, If the show stayed with CW it probably would’ve lasted just as long as "Girlfriends"
if BET watered down the scripts why are we seeing more stereotypes THAN WE EVER DID ON CW. We knew tasha got high, had guns, had gang ties. But it wasnt until BET that we actually SAW Tasha get high and hit BritBrat. the show got so ghetto and WAS NOT FUNNNY.

I tried,but tonight episode I think sealed the deal for me. I am so diappointed with this season. I noticed last season it was alot of comments toward black women that wasn’t too flattering, but I rolled with it, but I just can’t keep supporting The Game. There is no storyline. Brandy with Jason is a joke. Tosha was ghetto,but she is a business woman. Brandy is just ghetto. Really BET they could have wrote a better script.
I was never a fan of this show, something about it always seemed cheesy to me. I used to refer to it as "The Lame".I’ve always thought that Tia was a poorly cast lead, maybe I cant shake her image from Sister to Sister but something about her always seemed goofy. Lauren London strikes me as more interesting to watch, might give it a two episode try. Such a popular show, I hate it when I don’t see the hype….felt the same way about Single Ladies and that dry ass Lisa Raye

The show will never to be the same again! How do you mange to get rid of Tia and Derwin? I knew the minutue BET picked up the show it would be ruin; only a matter of time.
I never watched the show either…but from the feed in facebook, I was in the minority out of my friends….but I am happy to see Ciara exploring her other talents.
Loved The Game back in the day when it was on the WB.. Better writers and more down to earth (real life) story lines.. But when BET got their claws on this show I stopped watching cheap set and whack story lines.. And als since Tia and Derwin are no longer in the story line.. I WILL NOT WATCH..
Get out my head!!! THOSE who didn’t watch can’t understand but on CW it was a really good show, and the cast was on point. This cast is awful, I don’t like Brandy in this role complete fail casting her, Kellie Pitts leaving was the nail in the coffin and Black Exploitation Television is too damn cheap to give us quality sets, writers, and actors!!! Very few shows survive after getting rid of one main character, they think they can survive two?
It was a comedy on the WB. I think BET tryed to turn it into a drama which really messed it up.

I’m only here for Brandy and Hosea(with his FINE ass)…Lauren is cute, but she cannot act her way outta a paper bag. My DVR will be put to use, I can see already Imma need to get my fast forward on real heavy.No Melanie and Derwin is INSANE-BET always f*cking up the groove(in my Keyshia Cole voice)!

I like "The Game" and was so happy it came back. I’d actually like to see it extended to an hour long show instead of 30 minutes. They did make changes when it switched to BET but years had passed since it left so I wasn’t mad at the changes.
I really hate to see Girl Melanie and Derwin go but I’m hoping the writers come up with some good plots to keep me interested.
Also Tia wasn’t fired – they were going to reduce her character so she felt it was a demotion so she decided not to return (i.e. Tia quit).
Oh yea and once they moved to BET I couldn’t stand Kelly’s character so I’m glad she’s gone. She was better in the original version, but in the BET version she was wayyyy too uppity.
This was originally a COMEDY when it was on WB, correct? I will admit I was super excited when it came back but then it got too serious. I want to laugh not watch a damn soap opera.
Well I will be watching and hope for the best.Derwin and Mel can’t be replaced but,I think BET can pull it off. IDK about Lauren’s acting skills but,the rest of the cast should come through!

I won’t watch this season. BET ruined a great show, and like most other black sitcoms of the past (Martin, Living Single, Girlfriends…) they get corny/boring by season 5/6. Too many changes with the characters, over dramatic storylines… I’m done. I’ll stick to my Scandal lol….

Getting rid of main characters??? Isn’t that what happened to Girlfriends? Toni Childs??? Her character was a staple in the sitcom. Hope they don’t suffer the same fate.

I will not watch the last season of tg. It was muck up from day one whn bet took over.. And why is brandy there she sucks…..
Since moving to BET, The Game has been filled with a bunch of NON ACTIN ACTORS(Sheree Whitfield, Terrance J, new Briana, Brandy etc)so I’m not shocked to see Ciara up there. Her music career is goin no where fast so It’s great she’s "exploring other options!" Lauren London is a horrible actress, she is so damn EXTRA & OVER DRAMATIC! I love Jason Putts on the show and I hope they bring that Kwan Kirkpatrick guy, he was all types of FIONE!
I can’t with it anymore. I held in there for Derwin & Girl Melanie. Malik is great but he can’t carry the show alone. BET truly, TRULY, took a winning formula and destroyed it. Why in the he’ll do they think the show was so popular and fans wanted it back on the air?
Because we liked it the way it was. Unfortunately, I have to say I’m no longer interested.
I enjoyed seeing Ciara on last night’s episode of the Game and I also look forward to seeing Lauren London and Jay Ellis as the two new characters this season. I’m always at work at DISH when this comes on so I record it on my DVR. My roommates and I set up our DISH Hopper to record up to six programs at once, during primetime. This way no one argues about what to record.
