As you know, the 90′s girl group once consisted of sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott, as well as Kandi Burruss and Tameka “Tiny” Harris but things changed after a bit of internal disagreements within the group.
Kandi, who has gone on to earn awards with her songwriting expertise and is now a real “housewife” of Atlanta, explained a while back that she’s NEVER revisiting her past and has pretty much said that her days with Xscape are gone.

Tiny, on the other hand is rumored to be on the fence about the situation. I’ve heard that she would reunite with the group only if Kandi would… (and we already know that ain’t happ’nan).

Whatever the case, life goes on and it certainly moved on without Kandi and Tiny this weekend as LaTocha and Tamika hit the stage as a Xscape one mo’ gin… but this time as a duo.

They didn’t sound TOO bad just sounded like one or two people were missing. And why would Tiny want to join these throwbacks? She runs a goirl group of her own,"The OMG Girls", AND her son King is in a boy group, AND she has to be with hubby to fight off thirsty chics, AND she has a show of her own. Way too much going on yet the Harris’ are staying on top.

Personally I have always felt that LaToscha was the voice of the group..hers was very distinguishable..with that said, they had a lot of great songs with her voice as the primary on it, so I don’t see where just the two of them would be an issue

Tiny be a leader not a follower..if you want to join the group then do it. Kandi is just not participating because she got millions and just dont feel she need to. If she was broke then she would reunite with the group.

LaTocha voice is really lovely.
I really enjoyed the performance. The ladies did a good job and if they really wanted to, proved that they can carry the group. I still like Kandi and Tiny and don’t feel any type of way about either one of them not performing with them.
I never understood why Tocha and her sister couldn’t just go the K-Ci and JoJo route. They had a VERY successful career after Jodeci. Kandi and Tiny have no interest in doing Xscape anymore. (They have their reasons and I wasn’t there so no judgement here.) The Scotts were the voices and I think them as a new duo would be nice. I want to see them with a new name singing new songs.

The way they ripped this shyt, they made me forget there were ever two other members..Kandi and Tiny, who? Xscape is my fave group of ALL TIME, and I would have loved to see a full reunion. As long as Kandi is too busy forgiving ppl like Kim instead of the Scott sisters, and Tiny is taking precise direction from T.I. about how to walk, talk, look, shyt AND sing like she has NEVER lived independently, then I might as well let that notion go. This was definitely Kandi and Tiny’s loss.

Maybe we should all just realize that sometimes people outgrow situations, and simply choose to move on with their lives. If Khandi does not desire to rejoin Xscape than that is her choice. She is not the first nor will she be the last group member to leave and go in her own direction.It happens more often than most of you will admit. Sure it often sucks for the fans, but life goes on! We now have shows such as UNSUNG to let us fans in on the real deal about the break ups of some of R&Bs best groups! Everything appears to be fine, and then they disappear, only to leave a void & fans wondering why? The show breaks down the whole mystique and answers those questions years after the fact.Maybe years from now we will see an episode on Xscape. Things aren’t always as they appear to be.Khandi has her reasons( whatever that might be), and we don’t have to like it it, but its still her right to do her own thing and not rejoin group, even for one concert! But Kandi said that her issue isn’t really with LaTocha so I’m confused. She said that Xscape broke up because Tocha wanted to go solo. The only reason there was any talk of LaTocha doing a solo project is because Kandi had issues with all the writers coming in wanting Tocha on the leads of their songs. She was throwing tantrums and everything. Tocha was supposed to put out an album under So So Def, and Kandi ended up going over Jermaine’s head and getting a deal directly through Columbia–who was headed by Jermaine’s dad at the time. How that deal was procured… no one really knows… I’m thinking that’s where that rumor started… well at any rate, LaTocha could not help that her voice was more melodic/soulful than Kandi’s, and thus, more suited for leads. From my understanding, and since Kandi was sleeping with Jermaine at the time, I guess she thought he would go to bat for her. He was looking at that money… and for Xscape, that money was LaTocha.
It was Tamika that went on the radio and put Kandi on blast about JD–not LaTocha. She has stated recently, that it was HER OPINION that Kandi sleeping with JD is what broke the group up.
Either way it goes, it’s stuff that happened a long time ago. Kandi is only coming off as bitter and petty. Kandi can deal with drama on RHOA, and stir up mess there, let folk cheat her out of money, and all kinds of other garbage, and still want to be cool with them, but she can’t put the Xscape issue aside? Come on, y’all. This show was NOT about LaTocha OR Tamika. It was about where she came from and how she got on. If she doesn’t want to "revisit" how she got to where she is, then maybe, just maybe there is some validity to the rumors.
PS Its great that they decided to perform anyway..despite the intentional absence of Khandi and Tiny! To not perform would have sent the message that they don’t believe that they are enough, or that they could pull it off! I think the ladies did great without Kandi and Tiny. Regardless, they represented the group quite well. Sorry Kandi and Tiny missed out because this group is legendary and will always be remembered. So sad they didn’t want to honor their fans with their appearance. Goes to show how childish people can really be. If you can’t put the past behind you to give the people who made you who you are, the fans, the you don’t deserve any success in the long run.
