For the record, Ashanti held on as long as she could (about 10+ years to be exact). The on again/off again couple even celebrated Shanti’s birthday in Atlanta last October as Nelly threw her a birthday dinner joined by BFF T.I. and Tiny.
But clearly, things weren’t meant to be and Tae (real name LaShontae) Heckerd is up next on Nelly’s ‘to do’ list.

The St. Louis rap star and his video vixen girlfriend have been kickin’ it for some time now and she was even spotted backstage cheering on her boo as he hit the stage during Jermaine Dupri’s SoSo Def 20th Anniversary Concert last Saturday.
Tae is mostly known for her appearances in several popular music videos. She’s worked alongside Ne-Yo on his “So Sick” single, as well as Busta Rhymes and Mariah Carey’s single, “I Know What You Want.”
