There was a whole lotta side-eyein’ going on Sunday night as Nelly arrived at The Gold Room Sunday night with his new boo, Tae Heckard in tow (February 24, 2013).

For the record, Ashanti held on as long as she could (about 10+ years to be exact). The on again/off again couple even celebrated Shanti’s birthday in Atlanta last October as Nelly threw her a birthday dinner joined by BFF T.I. and Tiny.

But clearly, things weren’t meant to be and Tae (real name LaShontae) Heckerd is up next on Nelly’s ‘to do’ list.

The St. Louis rap star and his video vixen girlfriend have been kickin’ it for some time now and she was even spotted backstage cheering on her boo as he hit the stage during Jermaine Dupri’s SoSo Def 20th Anniversary Concert last Saturday.

Tae is mostly known for her appearances in several popular music videos. She’s worked alongside Ne-Yo on his “So Sick” single, as well as Busta Rhymes and Mariah Carey’s single, “I Know What You Want.”

Maybe I’m the square in the circle… but I’m not mad at Nelly. If things didn’t work out… they just didn’t work out.

Typically what happens is the guys stays with one girl for 5+ years, she finally gets fed up and leaves, and he marries the next chick.
