Kandi is successful in her field and her new gospel song, “Stay Prayed Up” is tops on iTunes this week, but since formally announcing their engagement last month, the cute couple has had their share of criticisms with many even referring to Todd as an “opportunist”. 
Kandi spoke to Jamie Foster-Brown about the unfair reference, and states:
I heard different people like Wendy Williams trying to say he was an opportunist, but I was trying to figure out, “What does she mean by that?”
Todd makes good money doing what he does, and he also has a lot of different business ventures going on outside of that. And he did not want to be on TV or anything.
I think, for AJ, it was more about if people can’t figure out how you make your money, then they always try to say, “Oh, you must not have any.” But you can clearly see that Todd is working. He does well, so no need to question it.

Why is it that when a man finds a woman who is successful and he wants to marry her that he is labeled an opportunist? If he dated a woman who was not successful then people would say that woman is a gold digger. When a woman marries an athlete no one calls her an opportunist because everyone is too focused on whether or not she is LSLH or black. So many of these blog sites praise “Black Love” but when it happens no body praises but has something negative to say. This is why you love who you love, and do what your heart tells you can you can’t ever please everyone.
I so agree, who cares what scary ass Wendy Williams has to say, she is an opportunist. She always has something to say and wasn’t she a crack head? I don’t know anything about this man, more than what is shown on TV, but he doesn’t have six baby mommas and is in a legit business, not in the gentlemen club non sense that her ex fiance was in. For her sake, and especially for Riley, I hope this works out for her. A lot my friends and family that are older than me feel that getting married later in life is not a bad thing. What’s wrong with a grown ass woman dating? Surely she was only dating those guys, with the exception of A.J. and now Todd. Dating and being in a relationship are two different things. Secondly, Todd moved into the house one month after Kandi introduced him to Riley not one month after Kandi met him. If you read her blog you will know Kandi had been dating Todd for months before she introduced him to Riley. Riley actually wanted to meet Todd sooner….well she wanted to meet anyone Kandi was seriously dating just in case she doesn’t like them so Kandi will not have invested all that time into someone Riley is not going to like. Clearly Riley likes Todd.

I used to really like Kandi but this season has really changed the way I view her.
First, she cheated Lawrence out of his money from the song "Closet Freak", but she recorded "Tardy For The Party" for Kim Zolciak for practically free.
Second, she always looks a hot ass mess like she went shopping on 42nd and Ashland on the south-side of Chicago.
Third, she was on TV talking about beating down a woman for her man — sounding like a common hood-rat. I’m from the hood but I’m not to fond of the rats there.
Fourth, something about her comes off as desperate. Especially the way she clinging on for dear life in those photos. She is reminiscent of a 13 who has just found her first boyfriend.
Fifth, she can check a black woman fast as hell but she was crying over Kim not paying her dumb ass a damn dime. She didn’t even check that bitch when she came into her house and started talking sideways about her neighborhood being ghetto.
Sixth, she is a great singer in the sense that she can hit the right notes but sometimes she sounds like a billy-goat and her songwriting skills are sub-par.
