The exclusive black tie event was held Monday, February 18th at the historic Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta and awards were presented to pay homage to individuals and businesses that impact the world of beauty and style.
“Remember the enduring appeal of Pam Grier ‘s voluminous afro and the glamour of women like Diana Ross? Behind each of these iconic looks are make-up artists, hairstylists and designers who deserve recognition,” said Bernard Bronner, president of Bronner Bros.
“The ICON Awards is about celebrating the contributions of professionals who drive style trends that ultimately become part of popular culture.”
Attendees and presenters included, Cynthia Bailey, Peter Thomas, Celebrity Hairstylist Derek J, Blair Underwood, “Big Rich Atlanta” castmembers Sharlinda Parker, Kahdijiha Rowe and Sabrina Rowe, Dwight Eubanks and more.

I was a model in the hair battle on Sunday and it was fun! Its where people of color can showcase thier talents. Its alot of money in hair & make up. The bigger multi cultural competition is the NAHA. I think its a good thing being that we have come so far as a people that seem to make something out if nothing. 2 cents!

Icon used to mean someone that achievements transcended, and was the blueprint for other artists pressent and future, but considering the fact that everyone who isn’t deserving the title of icon is given that title, we should retire that word. It’s an insult to real icons. jmo.
