The 4th Annual Essence Women in Music event was held in West Hollywood, California last night (February 7, 2012).
This year, Essence honored two of music’s most notable rising stars, Solange Knowles and Lianne La Havas and many of the music industry’s top notch vocalists, musicians, songwriters turned out to show their support for the talented ladies.
Attendees included Jill Scott, Dawn Richard, Keke Palmer, RaVaughn, Tank, Estelle, Kenny Lattimore, Naturi Naughton, Tamia, Eric Benet and more.
In addition to music execs and fellow artists, several television personalities hit the red carpet as well, including Nene Leakes (The Real Housewives of Atlanta), Marlo Hampton (formerly of The Real Housewives of Atlanta) Jennifer Williams (Basketball Wives), Amber Riley (Glee), LisaRaye McCoy and Denise Vasi (Single Ladies).

Michelle as I stated before as bad as some of the other housewives look you never point out their looks. It amazes me how you always are negative with NeNe and when and if you blog about Marlo it’s always something wrong! Even though Sheree is no longer a housewife, I’m sure you’re searching right now for something about her. I do like your site, however I do not always like you to give a negative opinion. There is nothing wrong with saying it like you mean it but it seems like you are biased when it comes to certain celebrities. And no I’m not on any team but my own.

Since you are clearly a loyal reader here are a few answers to you concerns…
1. I never blawg about Marlo because what is there to blawg about? She’s not a "housewife"… never has been and never will be. The only reason I did today was because she was there with Nene. (Kinda like how I would if Diana Gowins (remember her?) hadda been there).
2. I blawg about Sheree because I receive a ton of emails either asking about her or spilling tea. To me that means SOMEBODY (maybe not you) cares enough and wants to know about her.

Jill Scott looks like she has 2 basketball’s on her chest, it looks PAINFUL! Tamia is definitely lookin like MaMa Tina, what happened? Jennifer Williams looks like she’s been dippin in the skin bleach & Kelis looks almost as crazy as she really is! Love Estelle but the outfit is atrocious, and wateva Marlo was going for (JAILHOUSE HAUTE COUTURE?) she missed the mark!

As much as I hate weave, I must say that I prefer it on Solange. Natural hair doesn’t work for her, nor does red lipstick. That picture of Tamia DOES look like Tina! NeNe does need a girdle, but her face looks pretty. Marlo usually brings it, but not that night! Never heard of Lianne Lahaves, but if she was being honored for something, she should have had the better judgement to not wearing an outfit that shows her midriff…..tacky! Jill is beautiful but needs a breast reduction, because no matter how small she gets those titties will always make her look overweight. Kelli’s and Jennifer look good, Estelle, not so much.
So glad sumone else sees what I see when it comes to Solange. Everyone is always praising her natural look, but I just don’t see it for her. She would look great to me with a cute short cut, no red lipstick needed.
