Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina is not happy about her grandmother’s new tell-all book.
Cissy Houston released a book about her late daughter entitled, Remembering Whitney: My Story of Love, Loss and the Night the Music Stopped

Just for the record, Bobbi Kristina, is not pleased. In fact, she’s totally against the new book and recently spoke out about it online.
Here’s what Bobbi Kristina wants you to know about her grandmother’s new tell-all:
Cissy’s book touched on a number of pressing issues including Whitney’s drug abuse, Whitney’s relationship with her best friend and executive assistant and her feelings towards Bobby Brown, Whitney’s ex-husband and the father of Bobbi Kristina.

Cissy told USA TODAY’s Elysa Gardner that she and “Krissi” aren’t exactly close.
“We hope and pray for Krissi,” Cissy said.
“She lives in Atlanta while I’m here in New Jersey, so I don’t get to see her that often. And you know how 19-year-olds are — you call them on the phone, and they don’t always pick up. It’s difficult. But she knows how much I love her.

I purchased the book because my daughter is in a prose contest that needed something “newsworthy”. I thought wow, we could really pull from this book and maybe not expose the bad times but the good times in Whitney and her mom’s relationship…it is soo random. It’s like she just recorded a bunch of thoughts, in no set order…
Cissy can write whatever she wants about HER DAUGHTER. I don’t know why Bobbi Kristina is so mad. THE ENTIRE WORLD know that her mother was a drug addict involved in a violatile relationship with Bobby Brown, so what’s new?
I thought about buying her book. But your comment has me wondering. Was it written completely by Cissy?
i think the book is in poor taste! with all the rumors whitney had to endure during her liife, why in the hell would her own mother fan those flames with a tell all book? that really baffles me!
Well…I think her mother tried to answer some of the questions and rumors that were out there…before OTHER people start talking..can’t say I blame her….I get the feeling this won’t be the last book we see about Whitney.
But, I do wish she would have talked about with her granddaughter…not that she has to answer to her…but, because..BK will never see her mom the way others will or do. There maybe things BK didn’t even know about…like the Robyn stuff….or fights with Bobbi b4 she was born.

I just finished the book.. It wasnt that bad at all!!! It really brought alot of things into perspective and confirmed things we already knew and straighten out things that we didnt know. she never bad mouthed Whitney, she told it like it was. I believe if Bobbi Kris would read the book, she wouldnt be all that mad….. Now maybe SHE should write one, if she feels she needs to set what her Nana said straight.. but it wasnt bad. its just really unfortunate Whitney didnt get the help sooner. Miss her so very much. Bebe Winans released a book three or four months after Whitney’s death. Now I’m saying he is the one trying to make money off of her name. Cissy is grieving and she can write about her daughter if she wants to. Why can’t Bobbi read the book first?
I don’t like that she chose to bring up the Robyn situation and as bad as Nippy hated it you get the impression now that it was that way. It’s her story to tell but yeah the she didn’t love me eh. If its a book you wouldn’t write when they are alive the same should be for the dead. Nippy would of had a fit. That is my opinion.

Raquel, I totally agree with you BK better recognize that Cissy Houston is the reason her and Whitney live(d)! She needs to get some respect for her grandmother before GOD finds out why she refuses to have some respect for her. Cissy Houston was once just as big as Whitney, I know because I am almost just as old as Cissy, and I remember her and Sweet Inspiration. That lil rude girl needs to understand that her grandmother needs no permission from her to speak about her daughter! whitney knew she could not go around her Mother carrying on the way she was. She knew that. A child knows when he/she is doing wrong and they hide. Cissy was probably a strict Mother with her daughter most good parents are. Whitney broke free and look what happened. Bobbi Kristina is not the typical 19 year old. The typical 19 year old id either in college,or working to support themselves or helping out in a family setting somewhere. She was right in what she wrote about Bobbi Brown. She said clear as day that she thought that Bobbi Brown was a good person. He just wasn’t good for her daughter. A man is supposed to be the head of the household and "protect" not destroy a woman because of her fame and fortune. Bobbi has admitted he had problems of ego tripping. He couldn’t handle Whitneys fame and I believe that Whitney just wanted to belong and she stooped so she could belong. Ms. Cissy spoke well of Bobbi she did not blame him for what happened but he didn’t help her daughter and anyone with a brain could see that. Love is just not enough in a high powered marriage where a lot is at stake. Cissy understood that even before they married and Whiteny just like bobbi did not listen. The fact that Bobby K is so disrespectful to her grandmother greatly reflects the fact that she was not raised properly and spent the most important formative years raising herself because both parents were addicts. Whitney had a lovely voice but her personal life was a train wreck. A week before she died all the blogs were clowning her, then she passed and becames everyones angel again. This book wasnt needed, always leave the game with a good impression.
Or, it could be a reflection of Whitney’s relationship with her mother. One thing about families, what is presented to the public has no resemblance to their lives behind closed doors … that is all.

Ms. cissy you got some screwed up children, your son introduces your daughter to free basing, and your granddaughter is dating her adopted brother, you know what they call this type of behavior, a "curse". It is true what the Bible says, the Love of money is the root of all evil. Cut her azz off Ms. Cissy, if you don’t you gonna have somewhere to go.
Cissy seemed like one of the very few people that Whitney couldn’t get over on. She tells it like it is even if it is her own truth. We all know there are several sides to a story. With that being said I don’t blame this MOTHER for writing a book about her DAUGHTER and clearing things up as she believes them to be. As protective as they tried to be with Whitney during the wake and funeral a photo was still released to the media and I know Cissy didn’t approve of that. She also didn’t approve of Bobbi and em doing the Oprah interview right after Whitney passed BUT they did it and there was nothing she could do about it. Bobbi has to learn that she and that crusty dude Nick are not the only ones grieving Whitney’s death. To make a statement about the book is one thing but to even include Nick in it as if he was a real son or even her husband is just sad and immature. At some point she will have to realize that Cissy’s love as a mother is just as strong as your love is for her mother. Bobbi K seems to think that her love trumps all and that is not the case. Here is the reality and I hope she reads this…real love and honoring of your mother would be to show real love and honor to the woman that gave her birth…your grandmother. If you didn’t learn anything from your mother’s passing I would pray that you learned to love and value those still here not just Nick. Stop holding grudges and grow up that is a sign of a real woman.

as soon as it came out. The book was good,
I think Cissy contradicted herself a lot in some things
she did but didn’t approve of Whitney doing,
like dating a married man.

and while I think Cissy discussed a lot I’m sure

Bobbi Kris needs an A–whipping…that’s her problem. I have never seen an interview by the late Whitney Houston where she showed any disrespect for her mom. In fact her last interview with Oprah she talked about how her mom is old school and blatantly honest, but she knows she loves her. How dare Bobbi Kris..talking about her and Nick and what they aint doing…and what’s disrespectful. I dont think anybody loved Whitney more than Cissy Houston did. She has the right to write whatever she feels…especially if it is the truth and from her experience. I think that Bobbi Kris feels the drug use of her mother was some kind of loyal secret, but for true fans of Whitney like myself, it was evident that she was using something and it was not a secret for people with common sense. Her voice and beauty gradually faded….but that did not stop me for loving her and in the words and actions of Cissy Houston that did not stop her from loving her either. I read the book and don’t see what the big deal is…or why BK is angry…no one knew Whitney like Cissy did…that was her child…
To me it seems that Cissy was quite aware that all of her children were addicts…but she didn’t confront it…she felt to address it would make it a big deal so she didn’t…

Whitney did not leave her Mother anything in her will because, Whitney never expected to die *before* her Mother. Time and time again, she started and stopped using drugs and survived. Unfortunately, this time, she did not. So, its understandable that(being single at the time of her death)her will was set up to take care of her only child. I imagine that Whitney took care of *all* of her family when she was well but now that she is gone, these kept members are having to make money anyway they can. IJS, Cissy hasn’t had a hit in 35 or 40 years and I am sure any royalty checks she did receive, stopped coming decades ago. She could need money and if she can make money while sharing some memories of a woman many of us loved too, then, why not? I’d prefer it be Whitney’s Mother making money off of her memory than all of the countless non-entities who will continue to make money off of her for years to come.
I am not sure why BK is so upset with her Grandmother’s "revelations" as any Whitney fan or foe can find a lot of the information divulged on the internet. I have not read the whole book yet (plan to) but have read excerpts. Some of what I read, made me cry. All I saw reading the excerpts was a Mother’s anguish at being helpless to save her child and that Mother’s anger at having lost her child. The little I have read, only served to make me wish even more that a talent as great as Whitney’s, could have been saved.
Personally, I think that BK is a spoiled little girl who is used to people with no money, kissing her butt because of who her parents happened to be and her inherited fortune. If anyone is tarnishing Whitney’s memory, it is she–being televised looking drunk and high, sleeping with the boy who lived in Whitney’s home as family, and going on Twitter using it like its her own personal Psychiatrist. BK is the only child Whitney had and now that she is gone, BK is what remains. However, I try to remember that BK is only 19 years old; hopefully, with time and age, she will evolve into something better.

I think that Bobbi Kristina’s behaviour is unconscionalbe. Whitney never would have trashed her Mother as Bobbi is doing. To archive fame off of your Dead Mother is very sad and invite the world in to view you stabbing your Grandmother in the back. Bobbi Kristina is extremely presumptuous if she really delusionally beliveves that she dictates policy to her Grandmother-WHAT A LAUGH and Cissy is just the person to teach her that lesson. Bobbi Kristina, if you were to ever read this commentary, it is my hope that you understand I mean no disrespect, but baby have a seat!
I read Cissy’s book from cover to cover in a matter of hours. And for the record it is NOT a "tell all book!" It would be seemingly impossible to tell all when Whitney shunned her mom out for the last decade. Yes, we saw her at red carpet events and shows… but Bobby moved the family to Atlanta in the late 90′s/early 2000′s, so Cissy cannot tell it all.
Now, from what I read, this book is a tale of love and ultimately a broken heart. A mother who lost her parents before she was 20 yrs of age, who struggled with faith and convictions early in life do to her own family problems, only wanted the best for her kids. This woman worked for RCA, did background vocals, directed church choir, and was in charge of finding and hiring background vocalist for other musicians. SHE WORKED HER ASS OFF! John Houston was a stay at home father until Nippy became an artist in the 80′s, so a lot went on without Cissy being at home. But when Nippy got a little older Cissy took her baby with her and they worked tirelessly to perfect what became known as the VOICE. But everything comes with a price. Cissy is very forthcoming with what she knew… but Whitney told her own story on her sit down with Oprah in 2009. Cissy is only giving an account of events from her p.o.v. She doesn’t disrespect anyone, not even Bobby. If she’s guilty of anything, its blatant honesty and while the world says it was mean, both Robyn and Bobby KNEW exactly how she felt about them then and now.. I bet they are not surprised! And while she may not have agreed with their relationship with her daughter, she respected it for what it was. She doesn’t even go into detail about her granddaughter Bobbi K, she speaks of her birth and her love and concern for her and she kept it moving. This book isn’t about Bobbi K. Its about a mothers love, a mothers regret, and a mothers pain. She loved her child unconditionally, and while she may not have approved of what she did, she never turned away from her. In Whitney’s darkest hours she shunned her mom, because she was ashamed. She knew Cissy had high expectations for her, and she knew she broke her moms heart with the substance abuse. BUT Cissy’s love never waivered. It hurt her that out of everything Nippy asked her help with, getting clean was NEVER one she reached out to her mom about & she never confided in her about what bothered her. As a kid Nippy never stood up for herself and Cissy fears that because she always had her brothers to protect her and that she never developed that tough shell she needed to combat against the harsh critics and media in the entertainment business & that’s why she turned to the substances… to escape those realities. The substance abuse got bad when her dad adopted his new wife’s daughter and she felt replaced… then he sued her for $100 million; it was later dropped because he died. But she was living in a hell without all the bullshit the fame added to it. Cissy didn’t say it, but that’s what you come to understand after reading it. No one knew that when she was singing the star spangled banner that her dad had just server her mom with divorce papers…. no one knew that when she did the welcome home heroes concert that they feared America’s "national treasure" would be kidnapped and killed; no one knew that when she did that concert in DC that a couple miles away her dad was laid up in a hospital fighting for his life… She is the definition of putting on a United front for folks when any regular person may have just crawled up in a corner and cried there eyes out. Year after year she wanted to quit, but she felt she had an obligation to her fans not to. This all at the expense of her marriage going awry, her daughter not ever getting that time she needed with her mom, fame came at a definite price… All she ever wanted was to sing… reading the book Whitney put on so many concerts and donated the ticket sales, etc to charities… she was not in it for the money. Nelson Mandela concerts.. she footed the bill. So when they say she smoked her knee caps off etc, its funny because she did a whole heck of a lot for humanity. She looked out for everybody because she loved them, but nobody BUT Cissy ever loved her enough to say ENOUGH is ENOUGH.. they capitalized on her pre and absolutely post death… Momma didn’t need it PLEASE BELIEVE Cissy is well off! She always had a modest living.. nothing extravagant.. what she cared about most money can’t buy.. that’s her family. I pray Bobbi Kris wises up! That’s the only grandmother she has left.. and they truly need each other now more than ever.. dick ain’t worth it! I pray for Cissy, that she has peace of mind and doesn’t die of a broken heart b/c watching Krissi on tv breaks mine.. She’s definitely spoiled and like her mom, no one knows how to tell her NO! EXCEPT grandma.. she’s not going to get her way with Cissy and she know’s it.. but she has Marion PATricia Garland wrapped around her little finger that’s why she doesn’t deal with granny.. she likes getting her way. She may be a product of her mom, but the way she acts is that of a BROWN with all that disrespect she spewing.

Bobbi This one we agree on…It was not even a year since her death and a mother decides that it is during this time she is gonna share all the information her daughter fought so hard to keep away from the public….this is such disrespect to whitney ….from reality shows to books…from the winans to pat and gary to cissy ALL profiting OFF witneys death…I have NO respect for ms CISSY none….why didnt she write a book about whitney when she was alive…EXACTLY whitney would not have it so why do it now…show some class and dignity houston family
With all do respect, you don’t know what you’re talking about. The media wasn’t going to wait to talk about Whitney.. within weeks of her death "tell all" books were published that didn’t do anything but sensationalize what they thought she was. Whitney told her truths on Oprah. It is very presumptuous of you to think she would divulge family secrets. I read the book and can confirm she did no such thing. The book was a MEMOIR biopic from Cissy’s point of view; not a "Tell All". There is nothing but love on those pages, honestly. I think had it not been for the publishers who know nothing about Whitney trying to capitalize off of Whitney, I do think Cissy may have waited to do the book. But in publishing a book about she and her daughter, everyone else bullshit books get trampled on because her mom brought the TRUTH! If she exposed anything its the cruelty behind the music business, not her child. The book is on the best sellers list because people are able to separate tar from shit. The book is legit; Krissy is just in mourning. The reality show was Krissy’s project to be clear… Ms. Cissy was against it.. that was way too soon to be done if anything.. and a load of crap. They did nothing but expose Krissy and make her out to look like a baby junkie, IMO. And Cissy is not collecting the royalties off the book, it’s going toward Whitney’s charity. You can fact check that. And Bebe wrote the book after asking permission from the family, none of the others did.. and he actually knew her very well, both books are worth the purchase and are easy reads.. read both books in less that 24 hr time periods.
Cissi said she was not aware of him writing a book on some interviews. She said everybody else want to put out a book and she wanted to state the truth about her daughter.
