Most recently it was revealed that she owes several years in back income taxes to the IRS, who have filed to have a lien placed on her property.

The home has been transferred back into Sheree’s name, which is the why the IRS filed their lein, so I’m assuming Whitfield had plans to re-start the construction.

I live in the midwest we have really bad winters so we are on borrowed time when it comes to new construction. I have built two houses and neither one took three years to build. The structure of this house isnt even complete. Sheree need to learn how to live within her means and stop trying to keep up with the rich and famous. I agree with your 1st sentence wholeheartedly. Everyone experience financial stupidity at some time or another. For me, it was my twenties. Sheree is way too old to be so financially irresponsible, particularly with kids. However, I heard that ATL is the city of flossing. I actually like Sheree, and I’m rooting for her to get it together.
Dallas is hard on flossing too and I heard ATL has some very materialistic folks, everybody wants to be somebody. And you’re right I think everyone experience some type of financial difficulty at young ages but when you’re at an age when you know better that’s really bad. There are people making less than $25,000 a year and toting Louis, Gucci, Dior, and Chanel. When they’re broke they want to sit there and holler and expecting someone to bail their asses out of debt.

Okay. Let me say this. First I don’t understand all this about her living beyond her means, spending money she doesn’t have. I will say this: most people who buy houses are living beyond their means. Its called a mortgage. If people had money to live within their means they would pay cash for their homes. Second, what type of people take so much joy in watching other people go through misery. Why would you kick a man when he is down. Its no laughing matter. Grow up people. You’re either throwing away money on rent or paying a 20 or 30 year mortgage unless you are one of the few fortunate ones to inherit or pay cash. Maybe at the time she did not foresee losing her job. It happens.

The people applying for the mortgages knowing damn well they could not keep up those mortgage payments once the interest ballooned or the banks who eventually got bailed out by the government? As I understood, Sheree paid cash for the property, and was paying cash to have the home built…Lord knows I don’t think she has the credit to go near a bank and apply for a loan. At the end of the day, I would rather have my home built and it take 5 years than spend the next 30 years of my life paying of a mortgage with plenty of interest.
Where do you think Sheree is living why this is going on. Sheree should not have torn the original house down. She is either renting somewhere or living with someone. She needs to contact the IRS and work out a deal before she loses everything!
It is lot living beyond your means having mortgage payment that is in your budget. You have to live somewhere and you can either rent/lease or you can invest in a home.
In today’s market, getting a mortgage is living beyond your means and far from an investment. If anything you are taking a risk. don’t believe me, ask the millions of Americans who made said investment and watched the value of the home decrease greatly within a year. and just because the mortgage that you do get approved for is within your budget today, who says it will still be in your budget once your job gets outsourced? Wake up people and realize that the milk and honey is drying the hell up.

STL…I purchased a home for $320,000 back in 2005, I put 80k down on the home and got a mortgage for the rest, 220k. In 2008, I had to sell the home because I had to move for work. After paying the mortgage every month on time @$2300/month, I tried to sell the home for 250k, then reduced it after the home sat for 6 months to 230k, again, got a few looks and super low ball offers, finally after 9 months, I got the home appraised and it , along with similar homes in the neighborhood appraised at 160k…which means even after selling the home, I will owe the bank money…..so what now, I became a damn landlord until I can at least break even. The only way that you are going to turn a home into a good investments in many housing markets is if you buy a foreclosure or short sell.
Never said it wasn’t risky…I’m a landlord by default myself. But in a sound economy (and after many years), it’s an investment like anything else you put money into (life insurance, etc). That’s all I’m saying.

All I could do was shake my head at folks knowing damn well they couldn’t afford a $300,000 home on the salaries they were making and get mad because the house went into foreclosure and they destroyed it. Just because you get approved $300,000 doesn’t mean you go out and purchase a house that costs that amount.
My mom always told me if you spend $1, you better find a way to save $2. Giving my hard earned paycheck to the bank every month for a home I cannot afford is asinine. You literally become a slave to your home and that is not living man…that is lowly dying. No thanks.

You also must understand, people like to read the comments, so sometimes, they may not like the post, but they like to engage in conversation with the people who are commenting.
