[FLASHBACK: Reality Show Alert! T-Boz' "Totally T-Boz" Coming Soon To TLC... ]
As discussed in earlier posts, the premise of T-Boz’s new show is that she moves to Los Angeles from Atlanta with a few of her closest friends and family members to work on her solo career.
The first thing I thought of, was when was the last time you heard T-Boz sing acapella… or better yet, have you EVER heard T-Boz sing… I mean REALLY sinnnng??
Personally I couldn’t imagine Watkins or her fellow TLC bandmate Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas venturing out alone musically, although Chilli has tried a time or two.

The two were rumored to be planning a TLC reunion tour, but Watkins, who has chronic sickle cell anemia, said she has flareups which makes it tough for her perform.

But…. she feels she’s healthy enough to return to the music business to “reinvent” herself. Hence… her new reality show, “Totally T-Boz,” which has been picked up for four 1-hour episodes.
It’s about 20 years later, me coming back from the brain tumor and doing things I want to do.
You’ll hear about all that in the show, my real-life struggles, being a single mother. I don’t care how much money you have in the world. It’s not about that. It’s all about time. I’m in charge of raising a young woman one day, to be a mother and hopefully a wife. All of that.
As you know, being a parent, that’s probably the hardest job ever.
“Totally T-Boz” is real — especially compared with most shows,” says Watkins, “they’re fake as all get-out, right? I’m real!”

Watkins spoke of her new show recently, and revealed that she wants it to be more than just another drama-filled reality show, stating….
Unlike a lot of shows I turned down, the network was interested in following my life and some of the positive things, not just doing the train wreck. They’re interested in doing something that has substance but we can have fun along the way.
I love to laugh. That’s the best medicine.
T-Boz also says that her “test run” of four shows is perfect because it gives her time to find out if she’s really cut out for the “reality” of reality television.
I have to see if this is something I want to do. We’re on the same side. Let’s see if it works.
At least I got something out there. It wasn’t like I had to shop it around and wait for this. It fell
in my lap.
There’s a lot of people who have been going through what I went through and I want to help whoever I can.
I want to share my story because I think God spared me for a reason. I think that I’m supposed do something with it.

Just AWFUL! Lawd KNOWS I loves myself some T-Boz but this right here? I seriously think T is trying too hard. Too much camera foolery. Didn’t expect this at all. It’s like she really needs to calm down and just be herself. Or if need be ACT..like she did on "Belly". I’d of much rather seen the laid back T. But I’ll watch it just to support her(but please don’t ask what episode was about thank you).

I honestly thought the show was nice and refreshing. No drama is why they are being negative i guess. She has never done anything to the public to make anyone hate her. I liked it a lot. I have in on record to make sure i don’t miss it. She is still pretty and i hope she get everything she as for. We all fall on hard times but i’m glad she know how to get up and brush herself off. Her daughter is getting so big now. You should be able to catch a rerun before a new episode come on.

Agreed, the script was written for her and Tboz why you not ExProducer or sumthing. Scripted Reality shows are not whats in. Boring, but I lub me Sum TLC and will buy it ..solo or not!!!

I really liked the show. It was funny and interesting. Chilli looked beautiful on there and so did tboz. I don’t know about them returning to music but I loved the show. Can’t wait for next episode

So I’m in the first five minutes of the show, and wondering why she is being so extra. I’m used to the cool Tionne-Lawdamercy.
Wow…I didn’t watch it because the preview didn’t make it look interesting. I don’t have anything personal against Tionne. I think she has a beautiful spirit. I just wish people would really realize when it’s over. I don’t think anyone is checking for her as a solo artist. What’s so hard about just getting a job as opposed to running backwards chasing the past?

I agree. I think producing new artist is a happy medium to transition to in order to keep her name relevant in the industry. But deperately trying to hold on to the days of yore isn’t a good look. Rule #1 in life, know when your ship has come and sailed.

Had to come back and say that it turned out a lot better than I thought. Also, I never knew Chase looked so much like Mack 10!I will def watch ep 2, but Imma need Chilli to calm down and let T-Boz do her finally.
The whole story surrounding TLC is truly sad. All those hits and accolades only to end up having to try for a comeback at this stage of her life. Too bad she, Left Eye(RIP)and Chili did not have good financial counsel back when the money was flowing.

I caught a lil bit of the show, it was OK! It’s nice to see T-Boz back in her element after her ABUSIVE relationship with Mac-10 & her health struggles with sickle cell & a brain tumor. I’m all for seein black women & women in general on reality tv NOT actin a fool for sum spare change! Go T-Boz! S/N: I see Chilli still has NO man in her life (except her son)!
T-boz isn’t ghetto , nor does she have much sass. She was recently on Ch.5 Morning Show here in L.A. and she is very low key, well-mannered, and well-rounded. Even had the cute white boy flirting. It was cute. And watching , Chilli’s reality show a few years back, neither T-boz or Chilli are ghetto.Personally, I think the some black entertainers put on that ghetto or sassy behavior just to appease their blackfan base inorder to sell their music,videos, movies, shows. Because if they came out being proper or sophisticated or classy in anyway, they wouldn’t have the black audience, and they would be critized and would receive blacklash. You have to cater to your demographics. Look at 50 cent interview with Oprah, he said that he felt that he has grown but that his fans have not. And for the record, if T-boz didn’t come with the sassy attitude, blacks wouldn’t like it. Tamar is all sass and she got a spin-off.

I must say that "I LOVE THE SHOW" and I will be watching the next episode. I will not stand in judgement of T-Boz in any way, because she’s trying and that’s all that matters to me.

Last night’s first episode of Totally T-Boz did indeed hold my interest. I agree with you that her and Chilli may not have the most logical musical career, but it is entirely interesting to hear about T-Boz’ not so pretty past and how she wants to help others.
Tboz has always been funny and outgoing. I guess these new fans don’t understand. And chilli has a man. TRUST ME!

The show is actually good. Chris her cousin is funny (without trying),cute,and have charisma, her brother he is serious, straight business which is good ( his beats are good he has potential) , Tae Tae is funny, is trying to help T-Boz get back out there and her cousin too! Thats what family is about and this show is a winner

I enjoyed it. T-boz seems fun and down to earth. At the beginning of the episode I thought that she was just being to much, but she’s been through a lot and lost a lot of time recovering from illnesses. She should be living life to its fullest.

When Left Eye left (no pun intended) that was the end of TLC. They did their search without realizing Left Eye actually WAS integral part of group. Chili seems insensitive to reality. Guess she’s desperate for a check too since she couldn’t bag Mayweather and Austin’s support check is about to expire. Chasin’ all those rainbows with that swimmers hair and white dudes as the pot’o'gold was and will be her waste. T’s onto better things. Something will happen for her. She deserves to make it.

Losing her sight, sickle cell and a brain tumor is more than many of us would be able to handle! But instead of receiving praise for making it thru and pressing on, people focused on hating on her. I tried REALLY hard to watch it, too, but I was bored out of my mind. I’m not a hater and I want Tionne to do well, but this reality show just wasn’t the business. I like my reality shows served up with a shitload of drama and a hefty portion of entertainment on the side. If I want positivity, I’ll look to my real life for that. I watch TV for entertainment as everybody else does. Let’s be real. Her show just was not entertaining. OAN, they lost me when they showed the lady in the scooter. I was like y’all couldn’t pan her from the chest up?! I was out the game at that point! LOL

It was a slow episode I must admit but it picked up toward the end with the whole Chilli drama, but since I like T-Boz and loved TLC growing up, I’ll give her a chance!

I liked it a lot, liked her and her family’s personality, it was a peaceful reality show, like Tia & Tamara, I reality show not focused on scripted ratchet gutter rat antics, a reality show about the reality of somebody’s "REAL" life situations, a show about a nice, talented lady rebuilding her brand/career.
Wow, at people being bored from watching somebody try to be a decent, productive individual who natures her friends and family and is trying to rebuild something positive. F*cking WOW at being bored by decency. Maybe that’s why her show isn’t on BET, MTV, VH1 because she knew better than to expect civilized people with civilized goals to watch and not be "BORED" maybe that’s why Tia & Tamara’s show is on a non-hoodrat channel. No disrespect, but I am a decent woman and I just so happen to watch "Tia & Tamera" as well and I enjoy those lovely, young ladies just like I enjoy T-Boz outside of her reality show. I actually just got done watching one of T&T’s episodes. The difference between their show and T-Boz’s? Tia and Tamera are ENTERTAINING. I’m not just watching TV for hoodrat antics and ass whoopings. I watch to be visually pleased by what I’m spending time in my life watching, which is time that I will never get back. T-Boz didn’t come off as authentic, so in my and pretty much everybody else on this posting’s book, she read boring. People can like it, love it, or leave it alone.

It wasnt about the lack of drama for me, I mean, I watch Tia and Tamera and love that show..but T boz for one was annoying as hell and I couldnt bear to watch the rest of the show…but those "preacher wives" were something else right? I know I will be watching that mess…LOL
I have been a TLC fan since day 1 and they will always be one of my favorite groups. I agree with the comments that she seemed to be trying too hard to be real. She needs to tone that down and just be herself and stop trying to overly perform for the camera. However, I disagree that the show was boring. It certainly is not as entertaining as the Real Housewives, but it is not that kind of reality show. I look forward to the rest of the season.
The "acting" was just too much. It was over the top. Nobody acts like that ALL the time. I mean, people may joke around with the neck rolling, ghetto-hood antics etc., but they just seemed fake to me (and I only saw the first scene when she walked out after knocking over the cereal and doing the two-finger point from The Color Purple). Sigh, did they really have to let the roach have his own invisible scene? I was waiting for them to show it so I could be too through.

It just doesn’t work. I would love to see more positive women/strong women/supportive types on TV but we all know that will not produce ratings. Aren’t the creators (or T-Boz herself) smarter than that?
I give her tons of credit for pushing forward in life through so many obstacles, including the big scary reality that she is older now and needs to prove herself even more (despite the health issues, etc.)Love the fact that she raises her daughter with the same strong head on her shoulders! I wish her ALL the best and would like to say I’d want to watch more of the show, but I don’t. Not because of T-Boz though…it’s her god-awful friends! I think T-boz need to produce or something, take a seat in the background, cause in front of the camera isn’t her thing. It doesn’t seem natural or believable. It is sad cause TLC made so much money in their prime to even have to resort to what seems a desperate attempt to stay relevant.
They should be living well off of royalty checks by now..not reality TV.
I just wanna know why this chick always looks so damn miserable. It’s like a smile actually hurts her face. Personally, I don’t find her interesting whatsoever, and I was a HUGE TLC fan back in the day.
I KNOW. She needs to try and crack a smile once in a while instead of acting like a cliche ghetto hood rat.
I was totally appalled by how unappreciate T-Boz has become.
She blows Chili off like she’s crazy for wanting to keep TLC going – WHO WOULDN’T WANT TO KEEP A GOOD THING GOING? Why would anyone want to live that boring, workaday life she’s currently living when she could be a huge star again.
She acts as though SHE was the glue that held TLC together. It was Left Eye that MADE the group. She seems like she’s just lost that "feeling" and just wants a normal life instead of that of a superstar.
