My tea was confirmed when Frank Ski made his “big announcement” the day after I posted the link above.

Frank & Wanda’s last show hit the airwaves yesterday, December 20, 2012 and I’ve posted the 1hour+ video below for your viewing/listening pleasure. But while many of you have expressed that he won’t be missed, there are several who actually want to know why he’s leaving.
And for those who want answers, here’s the deal…
There were several rumors circulating about why Frank Ski decided to leave at this time.
I was even stopped in the mall last week and asked if Frank Ski had been fired because of that Walter Jackson interview (click HERE if you missed that).
The truth of the matter is that Frank had been a month to month agreement since early October, as he was negotiating the terms of a new contract. He was rumored to have been asking for a huge pay increase, but he also wanted his morning show to be syndicated.
V-103 couldn’t oblige Frank’s demands, so Frank decided to walk away from the deal. It’s my understanding that CBS Radio wanted to keep V-103′s morning show “local” being that just about every other show was syndicated… i.e. Tom Joyner, Steve Harvey, Rickey Smiley… they felt Atlanta’s market was hot enough to maintain it’s own local morning show.
Frank, unfortunately disagreed and spoke with RadioFacts about his decision, stating:
This is not something that I have not been thinking about for a long time. I actually started thinking about it during my last contract five years ago. I wanted to be syndicated at this point and CBS could not make it happen.
I knew I had to make a move and I had to do it on faith. Look at Ryan Seacrest… he was in here in Atlanta on the air when I started here and look at him now. Who would have imagined. I feel that I should be able to advance in my career too.
As for the rumors of marital problems and his home being on the market because he’s leaving Atlanta, Frank Ski says his home is for sale, but he’s not leaving anytime soon.
I had already purchased another home to be closer to my kids’ school. The drive was over an hour for my wife each way each day and it was too inconvenient. I’m not leaving Atlanta. FULL INTERVIEW
Ryan Cameron, who is currently the afternoon host, is scheduled to take over Frank Ski’s morning show spot in January.
CBS Radio recently announced that they have signed a deal with former traffic guy Crash Clark to become a full time employee and sidekick to Ryan Cameron on his new morning show at V103. Ryan and Crash are reportedly close friends.
In case you were wondering who’s up for Ryan’s afternoon spot…
It will be filled by non other than industry vet Big Tigger, who is returning to the radio scene.
Pour out a lil liquor for Frank & Wanda morning show. The pair did their final show on-air this morning (December 21, 2012) and Ryan Cameron is now the “King” of V-103.

When Frank first came to Atlanta, it was always my expectation from day one that he would syndicate his “northern exposure” to stations north of the Mason Dixon. Yet the show never seemed to grow and appeal large enough to warrant syndication. Syndicated morning shows have strong teams capturing several essences of a morning audience. They didn’t build that team… ijs
Although Frank and Wanda were a part of my childhood (all of the mornings listening to V-103 in the backseat of my mother’s car on my way to school), the show became dryer than Kenya Moore’s p****. Change is good!
First Egypt, now Tigger…..I wonder what is making these djs leave huge markets for the large (although comparatively smaller than where they were) market of Atlanta?

I feel Frank on knowing his self-worth. But, Atl is too saturated with syndicated shows. He mentioned Ryan Seacrest but failed to mention that Ryan S. is younger than him and works on the west coast. Ryan Cameron will be the next to go. He needs a female co-host.
I have said before that they need a younger morning show. Bringing back Ryan Cameron is not the answer. He has a strong 2-6, leave him there. It will be 18 months before they are forced to look into a edgy individual that can keep the attention of the 25-40 crowd in the mornings while having a connection to that 18-24 college demographic.

I hadn’t listen to the morning show on V103 since I was 17 and that was 6 years.I will once again tune in to the Ryan King!
I have’nt listened to V-103 since Miss Sophia left. She came at a time when I was getting bored with them and was instrumental in keeping me as a listener during her time there. I’m so glad they are gone. I will say that I do have a soft spot in my heart for Wanda. Her birthday is the same day as my (Late) mother and I see a lot of similar qualities in her. Wanda has done some compassionate things in the community that was not publicized and that tells me it was coming from the heart.
Yeah I think Tigger will find Atlanta to be his cup of tea.
thank God! I like Frank but I love Ryan! Wanda should have been gone somewhere. I hate to hear her commercials… Wanda is/ was not funny, she just laughed all the time. She is no comedian. Now they need Elle back with Ryan but she has moved on to television. Crash is only OK with Ryan. Im so happy they didn’t go with Kenny Burnes lame a$$ for 2-6. But best of luck to them all
The first time I listened to Frank Ski, he was defending Eddie Long. I was disgusted and never listened again. If that was what his show was about (being bias and defending his friends no matter how wrong and perverted they were) I had nothing for him.
I used to listen to Sky when I lived in the ATL right after he took over for Mike Roberts. He sorta grew on me. Good luck Sky and Wanda. Don’t base your expectations on what Ryan Seacrest gets. Each talent is individual. Just cause you’re good don’t mean you’re going to be pushed to advance further. Create your own opportunities. Lots of outlet out there now. Good luck.
I kept telling my brother he was leaving due to not being able to come to a mutual agreement over money & soforth. To be honest, Im kinda of glad to see Frank leaving, but I hate Wanda took the same route. She should have stayed and at least duked it out with Ryan. I think that they have made a great morning team. I stopped listening to Frank & Wanda after Miss Sophia was booted, she really made that show. But after hearing that Ryan will be taking over the morning spot. Man…I cant wait. I know him and Crash goin act a fool!

I always loved V-103 for Frank’s sidekicks. It’s funny how Ms. Sophia & Wanda helped make the show hot. It was never just about Frank Ski. Sadly, although I wish him the best of luck, I cannot help think about this approach. But I hope he is ready to invest his own money into his own television venture or syndicated show. I do not see national Ryan Seacrest appeal. I don’t even see a male Wendy Williams yet. But I can imagine him on a local television show working his way up. All his eggs seemed to be in that one basket, with the exception of the restaurant. I am really interested in seeing Wanda’s future endeavors too.

What a coincidence because just a few years back, Frank Ski was commenting on his show about some multi-million contract Ryan Seacrest received for a gig – I believe it was hosting American Idol. I kind of detected some envy from Frank then almost as if he felt like it should be him getting offers of such magnitude. I guess my assumption was right.
Well I hope things work out for Frank. I certainly thought him and Wanda had a ying-yang chemistry on the radio that was entertaining, although Frank got on my nerves sometimes.
As far as Ryan Cameron taking his place, mixed feelings over here. He’s okay ..
what a waste land black radio has become, jive ass-bufoonery-with a dose of the boogie. passing itself off as radio if this is what black folk want, attention deficit disorder must be in full effect in today’s black communities across america.
