Moore, best known for winning the crown at the 1993 Miss America Miss USA pageant, as well as her days as a Pantene spokesmodel. Kenya is beautiful… I remember when she won the Miss USA title when I was little, I was so proud to see a gorgeous brown-skinned girl on that stage. Here’s to hoping that in her future appearances (including on that awful show!) that she shows the same poise and class. I know that ratings are important, but so is legacy.

Somethin’ how Black folk can’t fathom Black women havin’ "real hair". Seems like it’s not recognized unless it’s "good hair"…meaning if it gets wet it doesn’t frizzle. We never take in consideration that if we didn’t cut our hair it too could be as long as Kenya’s. Oprah’s hair and Gayles hair is REAL. There’s nothing majestic about that if you actually wanted those styles. Braids and dreds destroy hairlines depending on whom you choose to do them. Relaxers destroy strength. Lacefronts decimate roots. Kenya just may make some Benjamins with a hair line product.

This is the truth- so help me. It seems as if we as blacks (not me specifically) get irritated when we see someone with long thick hair. I must admit though, when Kenya said it was all natural on WWHL, I too said "chile boom". She later proved it on Wendy, and I was glad to hear it. The only black girls I know with hair that long typically don’t have relaxers, they press it. Not sure about her, but she’s certainly the exception and not the norm. Go in Kenya!
I also said before that black women can actually grow their hair long too if they are willing to take the time and care for their hair. There are YouTube videos of black women with waist length hair. I just hate the fact that women who actually have naturally long hair some people just automatically assume it’s a weave.
She has always had thick pretty hair. I saw a pic of her from a couple years back when her hair was about shoulder length, but still thick as hell. I think in some of the segments of the show she wears her real hair and other segment she may have pieces in…but white chicks have been putting pieces in since the beginning of time and no one ever seems to question whether it’s "theirs" or not. Black people can have long hair and white chicks can have bad short hair.
