Meet 35 year-old Chamique Holdsclaw.
Holdsclaw, a former WNBA basketball star, who once played for the Atlanta Dream, turned herself in yesterday (November 15, 2012) after a dispute with her ex-girlfriend made a violent turn for the worse.

The victim, Jennifer Lacy, 29, who described herself as Holdsclaw’s former girlfriend, told authorities she was working out at a church on Ponce de Leon Avenue on Tuesday when Holdsclaw approached her and said she wanted to put some items in Lacy’s car.
According to an incident report, as Lacy drove from the church she smelled gasoline inside her vehicle and noticed that Holdsclaw was following her.
Scared and confused, Lacy then drove to a friend’s home on Hemphill Avenue, at which time Holdsclaw got out of her car with a baseball bat and began smashing the windows in Lacy’s Range Rover.
According to AJC, Hordsclaw, surrendered to authorities Thursday and was booked into the Fulton County jail shortly before 9 p.m., according to jail records.
As of the time of this post, Hordsclaw remains jailed on $10,000 bond.
She is currently facing charges of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and reckless conduct.
Lacy posted a statement early this morning regarding the incident via her twitter, stating:
I want to thank my family, friends, fans and Shock family for their concern during this difficult time,” she tweeted. “I have never felt more love from my fans in supporting me.”
There is no word on what exactly sparked the violent incident, but SandraRose reports that the two had been involved in an abusive relationship when they were both team mates for the Atlanta Dream.
My only question is this… shouldn’t there be some sort of ‘no fraternization’ rule between players? How does that dating thing work when you’re playing ball with each other?

Damn Meeq. You feel better now??? I never understood why some people seem to feel that the way to keep someone from leaving/ bring someone back to you is to go nuts on them. I hope she gets the help she needs. There is clearly a mental health issue with Meeq. I was a huge fan of hers growing up and se was my idol. She is a legend.

Please wait a min. let’s stop & have a little compassion for Ms. Holdsclaw. No one would do that if they were ok & mentally & emotionally able to make a better choice. No excuses for her behavior. However, she is in her mind alone & no one understands her pain & maybe she doesn’t either. I imagine, on some level she wants to die & has nothing to lose @ this point. Chemique Holdsclaw I understand how you may have felt that moment. People fall in and out of love every day, I know it’s hard to accept that, but you cannot force her to love you, and if you could why would you. Lesbian relationships are even harder because you have 2 women full of emotion. Let her ass go, she is the one right now gaining all the attention of being the victim and you look like a stalking predator , but know body but you and Jennifer know how she may have treated you or mislead you into feeling there was hope for the two of you getting back together.
