Holidays should be a time of joy and giving but for superstar Usher Raymond, it seems to be a time of vindictiveness & mean spirits in his daily quest to hurt his ex-wife Tameka Foster Glover Raymond.
After a long drawn out custody battle, a judge ruled in Usher’s favor, giving him “primary” custody of he and Tameka’s two young sons, Usher V (Cinco) and Naviyd.
Tameka and her attorneys fought a hard battle against the superstar, who’s legal team admittedly had ties to the judges re-election campaign.

The final order in the case goes into effect November 20, 2012, and on that date she is to turn over her sons to Usher.
Everyone has their own opinions about the situation. Some of y’all feel it’s all justified, while there are many who feel that the single mother is being railroaded by her richer, more powerful ex-husband.
Have you all forgotten that Tameka lost her young son Kile just a few months ago?? While we see her smiling on the outside, this can’t be an easy situation to deal with.

I could have ran with it immediately but unlike some of y’all… I have a heart. Writing about these things takes a lot out of me sometimes, especially knowing all of the details that I do.
That being said, the recent reports of Tameka’s home being on the market, while true, aren’t entirely accurate.
Yes… Usher has listed the home for sale as of November 2, 2012. He’s also marked the value of the home up significantly.
The 8 BR 11 BA home is listed for 3.2 million dollars which $200,000 MORE than his 2007 purchase price. While the housing market in Atlanta has recovered quite a bit… I ASSURE you, the home values haven’t bounced back THAT much.
I guess Usher thinks someone will buy it for more just because his name is associated with it… and maybe he’ll find someone dumb enough to do so, but I doubt it.
Anywhoo… the real deal about their divorce agreement is that Usher can put the house on the market at anytime BUT… Tameka has a clause that states she has up to 60 days to move AFTER the sale is completed.
Hence, those rumors about Tameka having to move before New Years are completely false being that the home was just listed and with that sales price… it’ll probably be sitting for quite a while!

I believe either myself or someone else stated already indefinitely that usher was gonna sell that house. It was in the comments section. It’s baffling to me that people think its wrong for him to do so? Is it not his home? Did he not pay for it with HIS money? There is no reason why he shouldn’t be able to sell that house. Tameka needs to live within her means. I know she’s in debt and her businesses arent doing the best but that is NOT Usher’s issue. Ok….emotions and like and dislike of either parties, here’s the facts. The divorce settlement allowed Tameka to remain rent free in the house, knowing that Usher owned it and had the right to sell it. With the alimony and child support Tameka recieved, is it out of the realm of possibility that she would at some point be expected to provide for her own housing? Between her earnings from her businesses and her child support, providing a home for herself and her other kids other than the 2 with Usher is still her responsibility. Usher in fact allowed her to remain in the home for 3 years post divorce. In those 3 years, is it unfathomable that she would have been able to get herself a place to stay?! Is Usher now responsible for paying her the support and managing it for her as well?! Seriously, where does Tameka’s responsibility begin? Enough of the guilt. Even before the loss of her son, Tameka should have had sense enough to prepare and be ready for the house to be sold. I don’t give her any credit at all.

I have to say, I’ve been very vocal on past usher posts regarding this case which made me dislike him after being a MAJOR fan of his. But I must say this is the ONE area that I agree with Him on.
Even as a single mother myself, I don’t feel that tameaka should be entitled to that house. Do I wish the man-boy had of manned up an bought her a cheaper home (after the divorce) that fits HER income, in HER name, that she can afford the taxes/upkeep on? ABSOLUTELY!! I believe a real man with that type of income would do that. It’s already been said that she got very little from the prenup and the child support is wack.
What’s really sad now is that, that is her last home with KIle, and I know some grieving parents tend to keep their deceased child’s room the way it was before death. That is so heartbreaking to me.

Even after I started seeing his true colors and looking into more than what mainstream media was telling us I still felt the same about the house.
I’m not sure if that puts me with the idiots that say , "I feel sorry about her losing her son, BUT…" but is definitely don’t mean to come across that way.
On the timing I absolutely agree with you on, I just have a different view overall when it comes to the house. It was an oversight, but the holidays are the WORST time for a grieving parent.

I feel sorry that Tameka lost her son but this case has nothing to do with that. This case was started long before she lost her son. Tameka had her day in court. Things were presented in court that we do not know about.I don’t believe that some judge would put her life long work and career online for Usher Raymond. There are a lot of things that have not been reported in the blogs. Such as the stations here are reporting that Tameka was paid for her half of the house when the divorce was final. Which means she has known for over two years that she had to move and she has chosen to not find a house. It also means that she has been living rent and mortgage free for over 2 years. I think that I would have no problem finding another house if I have been living mortgage free for over 2 years and not to mention the fact that she has already been paid for her half of the house.
How has she gotten paid for half a house that hasn’t sold yet? Only a dummy would pay someone before they even know what their going to get from a house.

In general I agree with what you said except the standard of living part. I’m of the opinion of he should’ve put her up in modest home, free and clear of his name, settled the child support and kept it movin. He has the income to do so, and his kids wouldn’t feel a major difference between the homes. I don’t feel like her or the kids should have to drastically change their standard of living, but being realistic unless she could afford the upkeep and taxes on that home she shouldn’t live in THAT particular home. Now if she can afford the 40,000 in taxes (public record) every year then I stand corrected and have no problem admitting i was wrong and that he should have just paid off the house and put it in her name. Otherwise both of them will always have something over each others head,especially him.
She shouldn’t have to worry if he is keeping up with the household bills, and he shouldn’t have the ammunition to use that against her.

Usher isnt selling his sons’ home, he’s selling HIS property. The boys have a place to go…to Usher’s OTHER house. Tameka would need a place to live whether she had Usher’s boys or not. She failed to plan inancially because she thought having Usher’s children would shore up her financial future. Uh no ma’am. I don’t know one woman who doesn’t have some money stashed in case of emergency (need a place because marriage didn’t work out or better known as ASSURANCE money). She had access to a lot of resources, but squandered the opportunity.
While the death of her son was tragic, it’s a Red Herring. She didn’t plan, for whatever reason.

This may be a blessing in disguise. So long as she is in the house, Usher and his influence loom over her even more than it already has. Tameka was a pretty good stylist, and honestly if she really took a moment to not focus on Usher and the random foolery their relationship has cycloned into, she could likely build a credible business and make a good enough living on her own to go back, fight and win custody of her children because she was never found to be unfit.
She already has at least 3 credible businesses: Estella, Estella Home, and Kangazoom.
I am neither a fan of Usher or Tameka…I mean, I was a fan of Usher back in the day but watching this whole messy thing play out in the media has really cause me not to be as intrigued with him as I once was..that and his music became a little to housey for me. That being said, Tameka has been diagnosed with a mental disorder that she admittedly stopped taking the medication for….not for nothing, but we all heard of those women who do crazy shit to the children to spite the father…no one wants that to be the case here but let’s just call a spade a spade…she is a little on the crazy side. Next, this home belongs to Usher and he can sell it if he wants too. There is no reason why he had to continue to provide such a lavish roof over Tameka’s head. Here in Atlanta, people tend to live way outside of their means and a lot of these women/men have no backup plan for when the gravy train stops coming in…their bad. Designer labels are nice to have but definitely not a necessity when your means of income are shaky…and for God’s sake, realize that this is the beginning of a new era where the judicial system is not going to always rule in favor of the mother because she pushed the baby out…they are going to put the baby with whom they deem most fit so for all the groupies out there thinking that spitting a baby out from a celeb is going to be their come up, take heed. Grace is working for Usher so that means Usher is paying Grace salary to be his manager. The only difference here is that Tameka is the mother of his children and was devoted back in the days to be a mom to their kidz and put the styling on hold while Usher was working around the Globe. Grace however had already children so in order to get full control of Usher she became his manager instead. So of course she will keep herself in the background as long as the money are coming in and at the same time living the high life with one of the most hottest superstar. Grace will never have it as good as she does now. She knows this and therefore I think she will gard her post well.

If the divorce states the home can be sold, you better believe a plan B should take affect right after the divorce! Instead she was flying around the world taking pictures of her living the “life” and showing off her red bottoms via twitter. Just because he has money doesn’t mean YOU have money, take a lesson from those Hollywood exes on VH1, once it’s over so are your benefits. You can imagine the upkeep of the home and regular maintenance on the property. She got with him right after the Confessions Album so money was different then compared to know. Sorry but this whole home situation could have been avoided if she would have just got her own spot. I don’t think Tameka is smart and I think her circle lacks good advisors. Fighting custody battles is costly. And typically, the person with the most money wins. It’s pretty simple. If you have less money or don’t have grounds too fight ( eg child sexual abuse or family violence), you have to consider jurisdiction. Many people do this — establish residence elsewhere. She’s "a stylist " so this would have been easy to do. Since the custody matters are resolved with her other child, she really had no barriers. To give you a celebrity example, Katie Holmes did this following advice from counsel. I personally know of others who have done the same. Nonetheless, if I were her, I would eat some humble pie or crow and play nice with Usher. Time to make some smarter choices. And she should use social media for business purposes only. Folks know everything she thinking and doing by reading her twitter. It’s being used against her and she fails to understand.
yes because Katie Holmes and Tom cruise had a home in new York prior to the divorce so it was not hard to establish residence. Also Katie was the one that filed once she proved her residence was in NY.
Likewise usher is the one that started this case in the GA courts so there is no way tameka could have up an moved and established residence after he already started the case. That doesn’t even make sense, she had no control over the case and she was not the petitioner unlike Holmes was.
I know all states are different but when I had to go for custody, we had to file in my county where my child lived because me and her father lived in different cities.

Janet- he owned a home in ny — not her. She did not nor was ny their primary residence. Owning a home somewhere doesn’t make you a resident of that state. She actually filed from a new rental property. She could have made that move in a number of states, including her parent’s residence. With good counsel, you can make great decisions and achieve the best outcome. Again, if I were her, I would make nice with Usher and move forward. She’s not prepared to fight the war.

Soo…I don’t think I am heartless either…but I am not about to pay property taxes in Fulton County, GA because my ex is grieving the loss of their child. I live in Roswell and just paid 8k on taxes and my home is the size of the garage of this home! He asked that the trial be postponed so that she can grieve but she insisted it continue.
