The 5th season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta is off and running full speed.
Head “housewife” Nene Leakes packs up her family (including fake ex-hubby Gregg) and heads to LaLa land. Her first stop is to make an appearance in their annual Gay Pride parade. (PHOTOS).
Having pretty much shown her fake “A”zz during episode 1, newbie Kenya Moore continues her reign of terror against supermodel Cynthia Bailey, who decides to throw her former BFF a party with everyone involved, including Kim Zolciak.

This 2nd episode was pretty lackluster compared to the season premiere, however we finally got to see Nene take the high road when she bumps into Kim and Sweetie in the hallway as they make a quick exit prior to her entrance during her party.
Yeah… well clearly my initial assessment was correct. But I digress!
At any rate, here are 5 thing I learned during the 2nd episode of the 5th season of RHOA + watch video of the FULL EPISODE below…
I’m sure you guys noticed several things but here are five of the things that I learned from watching the 2nd episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (5th season).
1. Kenya Moore is still crazy as a betsy bug and her skincare regimen might be questionable… but Aunt Lori throws some premiere shade!
As the two are speaking about Moore’s former flames, Aunt Lori says “Let’s talk about a real man before we talk about Walter.”
Dayum! Did you catch all that shade?? Now we see where Kenya gets it…
2. Phaedra and Kandi are the only true “road dawgs” on the show. 
Real talk. These two are really friends and that’s rare (especially in the world of “reality” television).
Name two other women on the show who support each other when the cameras are off? (I’ll wait)
3. This Cynthia and Kenya “Beef” seems constructed to put the two “pretty” chicks against each other.
Besides Kenya’s dramatics, there’s really no reason for them to be at each other’s throats as much as they are.
4. Nene has evolved and is clearly above all of the dramatics of previous years. It’s almost like she’s just there in name only because the “old” Nene is dead and gone. (pour out a lil liquor!)
And last but not least, Kim Zolciak may not like Black people, but she really LOVES stealing stuff from ‘em.
First she ganks her landlord Kendra for her mansion. Admitting to squatting and refusing to pay the exorbitant fees associated with her renting the lavish home month to month.
Then Kim totally stole Kandi’s baby name and while watching the show last night, I realized that Kim had even stole Sweetie Hughes’ hairstyle and is rocking it in her confessionals!
Don’t even get me started about Kroy buying that diamond bracelet while the two don’t even have a place for their extended family to call their own! (How ghetto!)
Hmmm… maybe the Zolciak and her Klan clan can move into Chateau Sheree… (if it’s ever completed).

This season is off to a very dull start. It needs to pickup soon. Kenya is too boring to carry a show and she has ZERO funny commentary and way too much airtime; her antics are already old. If she doesn’t want people saying she is trying to hijack Sheree’s style then she needs to stop stealing her hairstyles and catchphrases. It’s so damn obvious.
I respect Kandi but she has no decorating savvy. Black walls? Red chandeliers? Gay boyfriend? Fake potted plants? Things are going downhill in that house real fast. She needs to spend a few extra dollars and hire someone to help pull everything together.

Cynthia is really bringing it this season. I always liked her but she really is really shining now. I’m also glad to see less of Peter. He was becoming too much of a regular like an honorary housewife. No one wanted to see that.

I agree with the past comment this season has started off a little slow and boring. I am glad to see that NeNe is not all argumentative this season, but who knows someone is going to press the right button later in the season from the looks of the previews. No! We are not hollering “boring” show because of a lack of violence. We are hollering boring because the show is boring.
Some of the other storylines have been taken too far (Phaedra’s workout tape and RIP intentions for example).
We are hollering boring because of the obvious level of fakeness of other storylines. Kenya has no history with anyone. Her jokes are tired and straight copied from other housewives; her presence seems so forced.
Previously on this show, we had some level of real drama because we had legitimate friendships and frenemies such as Nene, Shereé and Kim. They each knew each other for more than a decade.
Shereé knew Nene when her teeth were rotten and she did not have a name brand and could not afford a name brand. Nene knew Shereé when Bravo producers thought she was a little flat in casting tapes and she fought to get her on the show anyway.
These women had history that they could build upon to tell a story. They had tea that they could spill on each other before the nation. However, that is not the case anymore. The show has moved in a direction that is just not plausible or entertaining.
We certainly do not want to see fist fights a la BBW. But we do want to be entertained and we want the plot to be somewhat truthful. What we like about RHOA is that it remained classier than BBW. They fight with words on RHOA and do not reduce themselves too much.

SECOND up…..Kandi…..OK, it is already known that Kandi is a "Suga Momma" around ATL. So I’m GLAD she has FINALLY gotten herself a working MAN. Now let me repeat that…A WORKING MAN. Because if you’ve done your research, you would kow he WORKS FOR BRAVO. He is an accountant for BRAVO. He cut the checks for BRAVO reality shows. The only thing left in NeNe world is the up grade of Greg’s look to match her up graded look. I’m glad she has accomplished he life’s goals and dreams.
Final note…..I just wish that Andy would find a house wife that IS FROM ATLANTA, BORN..RAISED..and live the life now. Not someone born on the outskirts of Atlanta in Fulton County (Kandi), or moved to Atlanta (everybody else). That’s how you spice up a show, get REAL reality. There are plenty who have came from Bankhead, Simpson Rd., Dixie Hills, Adamsville, Grady Holmes, Mechanicsville that’s come up and can give a show.
