Friday and Saturday (November 9-10th, 2012) Tucker appears at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre to film his concert movie, which he jokingly referred to as “The Pay Yo Bills” tour during a recent interview.

Initially, word on the curb was that Tucker was on board to shoot the final chapter of the hilarious “Friday” movie saga. Especially after a movie poster and photo of he and Ice Cube mysteriously appeared online. Then rumors begin to swirl that he would NOT be involved.
While we all remained hopeful that Tucker would change his mind… it’s not gonna happen. It’s a wrap. Give it up. Smokey has been put to rest!
I got a rare chance to sit down with Atlanta’s favorite funnyman check out what he had to say about that and more…

For those of you who thought Chris totally disappeared. He says he went back to his roots and performed in comedy clubs around the country to hone his craft.
He also has a role in the new film, SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK. which opens in theatres Nov. 21st. but as far as “Friday” is concerned… Tucker says, it’s already been done. Let the past be the past.

When I heard the rumor, I was shocked that people wanted to see another one.
But of course I was happy that they loved the first one but no, I don’t think I’ll do another one.
It’s been so long ago and Friday’s was.. is a great movie and I don’t want to mess it up.
I want people to keep liking the one that they got.

Listen he is an actor! If the REAL issue is the "image" of Smokey, he could command the best writers in the biz for this project. They could right a storyline about a "reformed" Smokey who’s turned over a new leaf. Heck! At his age, maybe someone like Brandon Jackson could play his son who’s the new "Smokey Jr." and he’s trying to steer him from his ways. He is a funny ACTOR and he could play this role off and still be funny without being vulgar or smoking on camera. The essence of his character is what people want.
To be honest, Chris is making excuses and forgetting who put him on. Period. He feels he is above the Friday franchise, but if it were not for it, we wouldn’t even know him. Rests Case. *lawyer voice*
His standup is great so good for him. I am glad at least someone gets that the "Friday’s" need to end. They haven’t been funny since the first one. I wish him well.

The original Friday is truly a classic. I think he made the best decision to not do a remake or anythin. No need in messing up what is already a perfectly good movie.

He obviously has $$ coming in (i remember the guy that played Deebo saying he was flown in on Chris private jet) but the IRS is breathing down a brother’s back! Obviously he has a plan in place since otherwise he would be like Lauryn Hill (on the way to trial and jail).

This guy let one movie franchise make him think he was worth $20 million in other movie roles. As a result, he has alienated his fans, including me, who really enjoyed his comedic talents. He even proved he could be funny w/o profanity.
As good as he is, I’m sure he was offered numerous movie roles that he turned down, because he wanted every movie producer to OK a $20 mil’ pay day. But when he ran into financial troubles, I’m sure he wish he had done more movies and cut his asking price. He would have had much more money to live on.
$20 mil’ for Rush Hour, OK. He proved his worth in said movie; and even Jackie Chan agreed that the Rush Hour producers should give him his asking price. But he had not proven he was worth his asking price in other movies not yet made. Not to mention word about him being lazy getting to the set.
Nevertheless, Chris Tucker I’m still a fan and you are still a talent in the industry. God bless you.
