I don’t like that people are still saying this. Obama has a coalition of people. White, black, Hispanic,Asian,young, old et cetera. Although the numbers of Hispanics are increasing and we (African Americans)vote for Democrats overwhelmingly anyway, (educated)white people are responsible for his win as well. Have you seen his rallies? Did you see all of the people celebrating in Times Square and in front of the White House after he won.
Yes, Dianne, you have a point, but you must be aware that the man was facing opposition before his inaguration simply because of the color of his skin. Because of the color of his skin, he’s faced more blatant disrespect…people shouting out he’s a liar, pointing their finger in his face, saying he’s a muslim (so what?) or not even an American simply because they can’t get over the fact that he’s a black man in authority? Fought him tooth and nail. Yes, if not for those white people who worked for his campaign and supported him he wouldn’t have been victorious, but his being elected did not improve race relations…it made things worse.
