Keri Hilson probably fits in the ‘everyone else’ category.
While she’s had a few hot tracks and definitely written some awesome lyrics, Hilson never really tapped into that “IT” factor that most superstars and icons are made of. For whatever reason, Keri’s performances have made made many a fan rush the stage and critics speculate that it all started with the Beyonce shade Keri threw early on.

Lately Hilson has been flying under the radar and in case you were wondering where the hell she’s been… well, apparently she’s been taking a much needed break.

Hilson explained to Atlanta Magazine that while many of her fans have been begging for her return to music since releasing ‘No Boys Allowed,’ she decided to shift her focus from recording music for the moment.
Keri says she needed a break away from worrying and working on her next track, the next release date and the next sales figures goal.
“I’m always sure something else will fall into my lap,” she adds insisting that taking a break will not kill her career.
She went to church with her parents, spent time with her four siblings and traveled to Haiti and the Ivory Coast to do charity work to benefit AIDS / HIV research.
In the meantime, you can find Keri fine tuning her live performances by hosting parties around your local hotel pool.

I think she COULD have been relevant, but she never humbled or acknowledged her peers on the come up. You gotta kiss the ring. Give Bey, Mariah and relevant sisters props in every early interveiw. I don’t know WHAT it is but I’ve never really felt KH like that….dissing Beyonce was certainly a know-no cause she ain’t NOWHERE near the level that the Queen is on but even B4 that…..KH always came off like "Im ALL that & I’m better than them hoes cause I write their songs so if you like them then you should automatically LOVE me (cause I’m light skinned)"….she never gave fans a chance 2 really feel her or her music..maybe she needs 2 humble herself a little & then try again….she should recognize that her looks & her music are just "average" when compared 2 other women in the game….maybe the people around her are not being honest with her about SOMETHING….attitude definitely determines altitude sweetie……

somebody up there said it best "consistency is what keeps you relevant!" I’m a big fan of Miss Keri Baby….always have been, always will be. Its no secret that homegirl can actually sing, and we all know that a lot of these silly girls running around here calling themselves artists can’t sing at all! BUT….with all that being said….if she worried about her career half as much as she worries about flappin them gums about everybody else, she’d be fine. Clearly she isnt adult enough to be in this business yet. Keri Hilson just can’t break the ceiling…she has plateaued. I saw her in concert when she was on the Lil Wayne tour and you are right-She is boring! I was surprised by her lackluster performance. The choreography, the outfits and her overall delivery was a snoozefest. She almost put me to sleep.
And all because she thinks her looks will carry her. Great contrast with comment made about Ciara and Ashanti. Ciara can dance better than sing. Ashanti can only deliver one likable song on a 12 track CD. EVE is on the prowl.EVE was rough ridin’ on HipHop Awards and she’s as crisp as she was when she left. Now idk when beyonce had a story so I have to disagree with that part. What beyonce has is a very head strong father and a humble spirit plus the ability to mold and grow. But not a story. So I do think Keri dug herself a ditch by dissing Beyonce. Man, this article has some serious shade written into it. I like most of Keri’s music. She is really pretty, and I especially love "Knock You Down". If she made an entire cd along the "Knock You Down" vein, that would be golden. The great thing is, she was smart enough to have writing credits for other artists, so she is still getting checks.
