I can’t lie… I was really feeling some kinda way when I saw that another blogger (*cough* SandraRose) had beat me to the punch and given away a makeover from Derek J.
I was like ‘Hol’up! that’s MY stylist!”

Derek J has taken me from weave to natural and back to weave again… I’ve gone from 16inches of Brazilian to 30 inches of Malaysian (yeah… I’m extra, but whatev)!
I’m certainly NOT one of his celebrity clients but the great thing about Derk is that he treats you like you are. He’s amazing and I’m honored to put my head in his hands.
But enough about me… this is about YOU! I pulled a Nene Leakes and decided to do what Sandra did.
My dear loyal StraightFromTheA readers, one of you is about to be blessed with a free hairstyle from Derek!

Here’s the deal, I didn’t put way to much thought into this but I really wanted to do it NOW before Derek jetted off on one of his worldwide grand tours, so here goes.

I dont like going to the salon. Too much drama. Whoever is chosen be thankful for your blessings, Derek J is #1 is the ATL hair industry.
Yea, it’s drama and I know first hand.
Some of the best stylist I ever had in GA was in Bankhead.For those not from GA, Bankhead is the superhood where most prefer to dress like Joseline and Lil Scrappy, conduct themselves like Mamma D and K.Michelle but fake it to they make it like Stevie J. Anyway, I would see this girl who did amazing work but I couldnt take the loud random screaming, baby momma and girlfriend drama, dudes selling socks or candy, random folks asking if "I got Indian in my family", and stuff just not working properly. I got tired of it and just pay my stylist to come to my house. If I’m going to spend hours under the dryer, then I might as well be comfortable. We watch her shows, drink wine and eat food.
Thumbs Up to Mobile stylist.The industry is filled with a whole lot of mess and confusion,until it makes no sense at all.Remain stress and drama-free!
CHURCH!!! me too, that’s why there’s a difference between a BEAUTY SHOP and a Hair Salon. I did the same thing as you either i went on a Monday or she came to my house or i had my appointments set for after I got work in the mornings (730am) when i get my hair or my nails/toes done I do not want to hear about your baby daddy, what club you going to, or who you screwed or are going to screw that night that why I go to to a Hair and nail salon NOT SHOPS!!! and like u said and just like you when she comes to my home, we drink our wine, get our smoke on (after hair is done of course) and watch our shows hell and we can talk with out everybody in our damn business, my husband (18yrs married) made a little room for me that just for that purpose (my woman cave)
Well…as long as Neffe and Quick Draw McGraw are not there.
I can deal with the drama…I just don’t like waiting..are dealing with unprofessional stylist…who do everything..but..their clients hair.

Money has been tight for me since I lost my job last year and while I would LOVE some "GOOD" unpackaged human hair in my head, I can’t afford it. Michelle, come on now a contest in which the winner if from out of state "pays for their on travel and shit" (I mean really)IMO then the contest should be only for ATLANTA RESIDENTS, what if someone wins that can’t afford that??? so if the contest is about "repping the A" then that should who is should be only open too. I like what Derek J can do but I decided to go natural 12 years ago and my hair started growing like weeds. Granted my hair was shoulder length and thick but I’m at 18 inches now and it’s my very own natural hair. I do get asked constantly if my hair is a weave, lol. I think people can grow their own hair but quit putting everything in it.
He does natural too… the photo on the bottom is my natural hair. I only wore it for a total of 2 weeks before I went back to weave tho…
I figured he did. He is very good at his craft. The only thing I hate what stylists do (not all but some) like to come at you with hairspray and I hate that. I don’t like any type of sprays, gels, spritzes, etc. in my hair. I’m all about care for my hair and none of those trendy hairstyles.
I GET THE SAME LOOK ON MY REAL LONG HAIR. CHICKS BE LOOKING FOR TRACKS.
They sure do and it gets old after a while. I told one young lady that it’s really a shame that just because everyone else is wearing weave that you have to wear weave too. When you tell some of them that it’s actually your hair they get this look on their face like their disappointed or I ruined their moment or something, it’s crazy.
It’s amazing how your natural hair can grow quickly when you stop using the chemicals. Growing like weeds is the perfect description

Strange…Sandra Rose talking about a makeover. Not really liking this chic (slaying the POTUS every chance she gets) because the pic she represents of herself is not even HER!!?? Sandra Rose has dark complexion with maybe 12" weave? I love our skin in it’s many wonderful hues. THAT’S what makes us beautiful. But the REAL Sandra Rose would never be recognized on the street or in ANY venue because that is NOT her pic. This chic has REAL issues.Unlike ATLien with the skin tone much admired and desired and who keeps it REAL! THAT’S why you will NEVER see Sandra repub Rose posing with ANY celebrities. I have seen pics of Sandra Rose, u not missing anything. She got a face only a mother could love. She is dark although projects an image that she is not. Black skin is beautiful, but she is ugly inside n out.
I don’t really see her as "ugly". Her seeming hate for the POTUS I DO find ugly. If she voted before, she has always voted for white men. I guess,even with all the presidents accomplishments,steadying a titanic load of sh*t in a short span of 4yrs. that even the BEST of white presidents says HE couldn’t have done for some reason doesn’t sit well with her. It took 8 or more unregulated free fall years to get us into this mess and as bright as she should be, given her other profession which required college education…I don’t understand why she thinks a mormon who thinks Blacks are God’s curse as evidence of their skin, would think this snow white rascist who hides behind no sheets will consider her vote anything other than a vote from "Topsy".
