Nene Leakes of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was spotted on set of her side gig, NBC’s “The New Normal” yesterday (October 8, 2012).
Leakes was reportedly wearing the get-up for the taping of the Halloween episode of the show but what (or who) the hell she’s dressed as is still up for debate.
Since she’s already dressed up as Marlo Hampton earlier this month, my guess would be Nene is imitating her RHOA ‘frienemy’ Kim Zolciak (circa 2001 – the Big Poppa era)…
Others I’ve asked say Nene’s dressed up as “raggedy andy”….

It looks as if she is dressed up as Venus or Serena when they were rocking the braids early on in their tennis career.

I feel you, Mary, but while Ce is somewhat misguided they might be onto something.
She does look uncomfortable, but she is not being forced to do anything. Is she paying the price for fame by being forced into caricature?
Perhaps. Is she selling her soul to the devil for a check? Probably not. But something is amiss.
Certain producers have taken a liking to Nene, but on some level, a very real level, I question their motivations. What in fact are they really laughing at?

Have you noticed her cameo’s consist of shaking heads, rolling eyes, and loud voices? Mary wake up! It happens to even the best blacks in the industry. Do you remember the Pam Grier era..wake up

She gotta be busty, lusty and with a thick accent. This actress been living in the US for over 2 decades but she still pulling that Chiquita Banana image. All that’s missing is a bowl of fruit. Lucy Lui is playing a kung fu geisha girl in her next movie with RZA. All this time and she still playing a stereotype. The struggle is real.
