The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback served 21 months in prison prior to returning to the NFL in 2010, eventually becoming the Eagles’ $100 Million dollar man and being named Comeback Player of the Year.

According to the terms of Vick’s probation, he was not allowed to own a dog. His three-year probation sentence ended last July, and now he is free to own an animal if he so chooses.
Well… it appears that Vick’s already added a pooch to the family and here’s photographic proof…
Dad was tinkering around on his iPad… daughter appears to be working diligently… And clearly visible on the right side of the table is a box of MilkBone dog biscuits.
It’s not hard to connect the dots from there.
Vick (or his people) quickly deleted the photo, which was replaced by a 2nd similar shot minus the dog biscuits…
While it’s not illegal for him to own a pet, clearly Vick has enough sense to realize that his dog ownership should probably be kept under wraps at the moment.
Vick’s dog ownership has been debated on news shows nationwide and it seems that he will NEVER be able to leave the stains of his dog fighting past behind.
The man served his time… breezed through probation without a hitch… and has managed to resurrect his NFL career, and yet there are still many who choose to tie him to his past.
I’m all for Vick owning a dog… and I’m a die hard pet owner. Those of you who think he shouldn’t, are you as firm in your commitment to human rights as you are to the “rights” of animals?
Is there really anything WRONG with Vick owning a dog at this time?

REGULAR PEOPLE DON’T REALIZE THAT DOG FIGHTERS OR PEOPLE THAT LIKE TO WATCH DOG FIGHTING ONLY SEE THAT AS SPORT OR A MEANS FOR MONEY. THEY USUALLY HAVE FAMILY PETS AND WOULD NEVER PUT THAT PET IN SUCH A SITUATION (AND THEY SHOULDN’T W/ ANY DOG). THEY SEE THAT PET AS A LOVED FAMILY MEMBER. THAT WAS THE CASE WITH VICK & THE FAMILY PETS THEY HAD WHEN ALL OF THAT MESS WENT DOWN. SO AS FAR AS THEIR NEW DOG, I’M GLAD HIS KIDS DON’T HAVE TO KEEP SUFFERING B/C OF HIS STUPIDITY………JENNY JONES!!!

I wish people would just leave this man alone. They act as if he killed a person, or raped a white woman. The fact that white people let their dogs lick them in the mouth and sleep in their beds is how we got to this point. They have this weird obsession with their pets,and treat them like people. It is 2012,and many Katrina victims have yet to return home, there are Haitians that are still living out in the open since the earthquake, and a disproportionate amount of black and hispanic men are being incarcerated every year. if Mike Vick wanna own a dog then its his right.People should focus on the fact that he is a black man sitting at the table with his daughter while she is doing homework. very well said, it’s mostly white people that is picking on him, white people do be letting their dogs be licking them all in their mouths and some of them do sexual things with their pets, I honestly can’t see how black people be kissing them, UGH! but anyway, I wish they would leave that man alone.

versatile, I aint gonna put all the blame on Vick.Some folk don’t like black Qb’s and will cause harm to them. The new Redskins guy and Cam Newton will face the harshest criticisms yet.Some feel that the QB position is reserved for one color only and will do a whole lot to sabatge people like Vick, Cam, and the new young dude.This is what I am seeing with my eyes.(not a coincidence either)

He can own a dog. People need to look at the facts from that case. The man hadn’t been home in literally 5 MONTHS when all that crap went down. He trusted some of his sorry family members in his house and they burned him. Because he was the homeowner and his sorry a– people preferred to avoid jail time and pin it on him, he got stuck with taking the rap for it. Vick and his family can own a dog. As ATLien said, the man went to jail, served his time, has done a lot with the SPCA, all of that. Can’t crucify him forever. Leave the man be for crying out loud.
