McKinness posted the following tweet at 1:20 am about driving drunk at 120 mph:
McKinness posed a 2nd tweet where he again used Drake’s prolific rap quote which means “You Only Live Once” and twenty minutes he died in a fiery one-car crash along with his four friends.
More details including photos + video below…
McKinness’ final tweet was a direct quote from Drake, ‘Driving tweeting sipping the cup fuck yolo I’m turning it up’…
YOLO was made popular in Drake’s hit song The Motto but like I always say… you only live once but you only DIE once too! (YODO)!

Based on his tweets prior to the collision, police officers said there is a high likelihood alcohol was involved. (duh!)
Marquell Bogan, 23, and Dylan George, 20, both of Ontario; Jonathan Watson, 21, of San Bernardino, and JaJuan Bennett, 23, of Rancho Cucamonga also were killed when they ran a red light in their 2005 Nissan Sentra and slammed into a wall.
Although McKinness’ tweet made it seem as if he was behind the wheel, police said it was actually Watson who was driving the vehicle that eventually came to a stop in the back yard of a home.
McKinness’ friends say he was an up and coming rapper having been either recently signed or in the process by a major label. A YouTube music video for his single titled Dreams has racked up more than 23,000 views since its upload on April of this year. (source 1 and 2)

The irony…
Dumbass
I have no remorse for people who live reckless lifestyles. If you want to play games with death. fine. do you.
Amen. Talk about putting out bad energy! Wow.
[...] SFTA – Live Like a Fool; Die Like a Fool [...]
That is so sad.
I went to open house at my daughter’s school and the teacher had assignments posted on the wall from the students topic "write a quote that will inspire you during the school year", some unfortunate child put "YOLO" on his. Tragically this type of outlook on life is transpiring no matter age, race or class.
Was the child referring to these rap lyrics? I know "you only live once" is usually said the context of doing something positive, like taking a trip to an exotic place, buying an expensive pair of shoes, asking someone out on a date, etc. I hope this phrase is not starting to mean, "you only live once so go do something reckless and stupid"
call me stupid but am I the only one who sees there is two different dates on the tweets? The story makes it seem like he tweeted both on the same day……
@stupid: it never said that they were from the same day, it just referred to the two different tweets on two separate occasions one being when he died.
YOLO makes me want to respect the 1 life I get to live even more……
RIP first and foremost. Drinking and driving come on how many people have died this way?? The youth need to wake up and look at the facts. On a lighter note how you trying to stunt in a Fking 05 NISSAN SENTRA??? A Fking SENTRA? OK I’m done
LOL!! Ha
Girl, I didn’t even know they still made Sentra’s.
He said when he was a Christian he used to think his talent was a blessing but now that he grown up he now he know everything he got is from what he worked for…***as young people we really need to evaluate our thought process. the industry and the culture surrounding music makes us feel its okay to deny God becuase as they see it YOLO!! Thats clearly not a good Motto to live by. : (
some of this new music is crazy with all the subliminal messages.
That line caught my attention too. Only what you do for Christ will last. These poor unfortunate young black folks worshiping music, money, and fame.
They were not thinking about innocent people when they were driving at 120 mph. I just think about all of the little kids and parents walking their children home from school, the elderly people driving, and others who could have been killed by that stupidity. YOLO doesn’t mean you should put other people’s lives at risk… But they did…
I just watched the television coverage and thank the Lord that the driver sobered up to try to avoid another driver. Also, they were driving approximately 75 mph, not 120 mph, so I take back the harsh tone of my comments. I have a little more compassion for them after hearing the words from their friends and relatives. Now, I need black mothers to stand up and start rebuking the language, lifestyle, and lawlessness of this music. I mean they are smoking weed, almost blaspheming, and more. Where are these boys’ mamas? Why are we allowing our children to grow up on gangster rap music and allow the demonic influences to have a stronghold on their minds, bodies, and souls? Black women Stand TFU and do something! Get yo’ life!
Yeah, I agree. So sorry he lost his life, however he’s lucky he didn’t take an innocent life as well. I just lost a cousin to a car crash (funeral was today and I couldn’t make it-no alcohol involved…he was only 17). This young generation (and I ain’t even old lol) live so reckless. And don’t get me started on the mothers. Watching the news now and a little while ago, this mother who’s college-aged son was beaten to death (bless her heart) was being interviewed. What she said threw me: "he wasn’t your typical black male. He didn’t fight anybody." Really? So as a black woman you feel our black men just go around knocking people out? I hope it was her grief talking, but when we ourselves can make comments like that, we have a deep rooted problem.
Because the mothers think it’s cute. I have trifflin chicks like this in my family. They deliberately raise the child up ignorant as a way of "keeping it real" and because they think that’s what being black is about. Any type of knowledge, education, wisdom, or civility is shunned or seen as stupid because those are all things "the white man" does.
Where are these boys daddies? It takes two to make a baby!!!!!!!!!
The thing is, he may have been blessed with a God-given talent for words (I’ve never heard any of this songs), but used the talent in the wrong way. God won’t give anyone a talent that promotes death.
By the way Davita Llamas or Davita Harris formerly was a porno star..went by the name of Tischa Price or Tisha Price.
So he was 21, dies at 1:20 and was driving 120 miles per hour?
That seems awfully eerie to me; the timing and the numbers. And this is 2012 too? All those damn 1s and 2s.
Its a shame that he’s dead and he wasn’t even the one driving.
1 dont drink and drive 2 if u must drive Dont speed. Be it 1912 or 2012. I hate that someone in the car didn’t say Man you waisted lets not go just yet.
Thanks for posting this Michelle. I live in the area and in fact i have friends that know these boys. The city was actually Ontario CA.
This is very unfortunate. Instead of calling these children dumb asses etc etc have some respect for their families. People make mistakes and yes their mistake caused them their lives but be careful what you say about a child of God because you yourself might be in an uncompromising position one day.
God be with the families. Who are you all to judge these kids smh SHAME ON YALL.
This entire story is hurtful. The crash site was a house away from my kids old day care, these kids werent the only ones doing this so let God be the judge.Prayers and blessings to their families i know this has to be a tough situation to go thru and then to read some of these comments smh disgusting!
…And let us thank God that this ungrateful soul did not take any innocent grateful and purposeful God given lives with him. Amen.
"have some respect for their families"
Why? They didn’t have any respect for anyone else’s family when they were on the road drunk. Suppose they had lived, but hit someone else. Those boys were having the time of their lives, tweeted about it, and reaped the consequences. I bet their families are just as ignorant as they are.
You said it a little more harishly than i would have but I share your sentiment
See how Hip Hop influences the youth for the worst now you have all these DEAD son’s…
If only they had been responsible enough & chosen someone to be a designated driver! God Bless their souls & grieving families!
He was nice on the mike he had that 1980′s early 90′s sound & flow like when Special Ed,Tribe Called Quest,Heavy D,Eric B.,Big Daddy Kane,EPMD,L.L Cool J,Fresh Prince and those types dominated the rap scene. You know that light hearted feel good rap before the Gangster stuff took over in the worst way and what’s been missing for awhile now,YOU KNOW ?? Sounded like this guy with his clever Rhymes and lyrical content could have brought it all back… His down fall was the Chronic and Liquor in the end, because he really didn’t need that stuff he was a natural talent and GREAT without it! The words rolled off his tongue with ease, like silk and that type CLARITY don’t come easy for every rapper! I bet money he got good grades in English Class..Such a Tragedy for all involved!!
"Be careful what you put out in the atmosphere because there’s definitely power in your words"
That sure is the truth. I just heard a woman speaking the other day about being careful what you think about because thoughts become reality. She said your mind does not control itself, it is only capable of doing what you tell it to and it is only capable of manifesting what you think about. Basically, your thoughts and words are requests. Whether you intended them to be good or bad, your mind is listening. And so is the atmosphere/God/the universe/mother nature/etc. All those entities are waiting to move in the direction our words tell them to and you can’t defy them. These boys were driving a 120 miles per hour in what looks and sounds like a residential neighborhood. Who drives 120 miles per hour? I think 75 mph is too fast on the freeway! Luckily these boys only killed themselves and not anyone else. I hope this is a lesson to anyone thinking it’s cool to live like a rapper and follow their lyrics. Drake needs to take a look at the stuff he is putting out and realize how big of an influence he is whether he likes it or not. When I saw my younger girlfriends who are around 19-21 years old follow and copy everything I did, I realized the influence I had over them and that made me change how I acted, especially around them. I knew if they saw me doing crazy stuff and being able to talk my way out of getting in trouble for it, they would think they could do it too. So decided to be an example, rather than lead them down the wrong path.
It’s really reckless and senseless to be driving drunk endangering yourself and others. My prayers go out to their loved ones. Just avoidable and despite many examples people still play Russian roulette with their and other people’s lives. Just sad to hear.
This is like Darwin theory of “survival of the fittest”. People doing dumb ish like this is just evolution weeding society. Driving drunk is stupid, being in the car with a drunk driver is stupid, stupid people don’t need to make more stupid people- good riddance.
