According to several online sources, MeMpHiTz has reportedly filed a federal lawsuit against the creators and producers of “Love And Hip Hop: Atlanta.”
Wright’s legal team, Conti J. Moore and Alcide L. Honoré released the following statement regarding “Whassername” aka Kimberly Michelle Pate (aka K. Irrelevant) and her allegations of domestic violence, which she played for the cameras all season during Love & Hip Hop Atlanta:
“Ms. Pate has taken full advantage of society’s tendency to accept claims of domestic violence as always being true, even in the absence of proof.
The only abuse that actually occurred is the malicious and calculated pattern of vicious lies Ms. Pate has assailed for the purpose of fabricating a compelling story line in an attempt to ruin my client’s name.
Also listed as parties to the suite are Viacom International, Inc.; NFGTV, Inc.; and Monami Entertainment, LLC, the company owned by Mona Scott-Young.
According to a press release Wright is “suing the named Defendants for approximately one dollar per viewer per show for damages that stem from the defamatory statements and denigrating actions of cast member Kimberly Michelle Pate p/k/a ‘K. Michelle’.”

Ms. Pate’s preposterous claims, which include allegations that Mr. Wright mismanaged funds and caused her career to ‘flop’, have been adopted as truth by many followers of the popular VH-1 reality series.

Wright claims in the lawsuit that he deserves extensive compensation for the pain & suffering he and his family has undergone due to Whassername’s stories.
My family and I have suffered tremendously while VH-1, Monami Ent., and the other companies provided a worldwide platform for K. Michelle to repeatedly assassinate my character.
The filing of this suit is to compensate for the irreparable damage that has been done to my reputation and to deter these companies from doing such future harm to others.
MeMpHiTz’ attorneys are preparing to defend their client in a court of law and reveal that while domestic violence should not be taken lightly, it’s not something that should be used as a launching pad for someone’s reality show career.
Domestic violence is an issue of serious nature, often having grave consequences for true victims with whom we all sympathize. However, it is unconscionable for one to play on the sympathies of the masses by levying false accusations of such heinous acts against an innocent party, simply for the sake of entertainment or for purported career advancement.
After reviewing the evidence in this matter, we are prepared to litigate this case to the fullest extent of the law to seek justice for our client and to restore his name and professional reputation.
In case the amount MeMpHiTz is seeking for in damages went over your head… he’s asking for one dollar for EACH person that watched EVERY episode of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’s first season. That’s 10 episodes (12 if you include parts 1 and 2 of the reunion), which averaged 3 to 4 million viewers EACH… you do the math!

Gonna be hard to prove K.Michelle slandered his character as she never mentioned him by name. She said producer boyfriend, spent 2 years with, etc..everybody else just deduced who she was talking about and she just never denied it.
Now Mona might have a problem as she let everyone operate under the assumption that K.Michelle meant Memphis. And she let them call him by name.

I don’t think anybody being sued is worried. Just because K. Michelle didn’t release her proof to blogs doesn’t mean she has no proof. Whatever she showed the lable was enough for them to release her with all her masters and royalties so there was something there.
I’m not trying to sound bias but as someone who was in a battle for the past year with my former employer I understand that sometimes people will gamble when they think you have nothing. My previous employer lied and fought me for a year until I was finally able to get the hearing in front of a judge, when I showed up to court with over 200 emails their lawyers asked for a recess and then started to negotiating a settlement. I received 3 times of what I was expecting.

Why would he do it at the end of the show? They could have done it before a show aired, or at the first time the situation was mentioned. Now that the show is over, might a judge say that his own communication aired him out, or that maybe he wasn’t hurt too bad because he waited til after every single episode aired before he took acton, or that he should name Rasheeda in the law suit, because she dragged that mess out?

And, if he is claiming emotional distress (pain and suffering), he must prove his damages. If I am not mistaken, the episode of the wedding, showed Toya and her daughter sitting together in white robes during or after eating the breakfast her daughter prepared. VH1 needs better controls. I believe his name was mentioned in her cameo. But I am not sure. How else would I know who he is? VH1 was wrong either way. Michelle, so what she said on the show (even though she did not mention his name) is substantially true. As far as he spending up all her money, I am sure by virtue of a subpoena to the record label will determine where the funds actually went. There should be an accounting of 2 million dollars, right?

Her public battles on social networks also refer to him prior to the case. Her statement of “I have been telling my story for years, look it up” puts her in major hot water. Due to the fact that when you “look it up” she says his name. Her conversation with Rasheeda and her radio interviews are also very damaging to her case. If she has text messages with him then he has those same messages and must have felt they were not too credible because then why file suit. I am sure the details of her being let out of her contract will also come into play as well. I don’t think it would behoove K Michelle to go to such great theatrical lengths if there were no validity to her claims. It takes years for most victims of DV to even be comfortable enough to own what happened to them let alone discuss it and subsequently heal from their injuries be it emotionally, physically and or mentally. I do not feel that there is a statue of limitations on how long it takes for someone to begin/finish the healing process. I was not there to witness whether or not there was any violence, but I do find her claims to have an air of truth, however, it is not for me or anyone else to judge. In my experience looking at our justice system, it is not what happened it is what you can prove. She can cry until she is blue in the face but if she can’t back it up with proof, he will win. Even though Viacom is a big company they have lost cases in the past regarding some of the movies they produced so it’s not impossible for them to loose. I think so many want to believe her without proof because they have been a witness to domestic violence themselves or through close relationships. It does exist and many times go unreported, but if you don’t report it then it basically didn’t happen in the eyes of the law.

Notice that all these others are named, but he’s not coming for her with this suit. Suing them is silly because he has no standing. Reality shows can not be sued for the utterances of cast members, especially when the person’s name was not mentioned and apparently what was said was true. Go figure!
I’m not saying she is lying, but you can never really judge a book by its cover in any situation. Often times, things aren’t what they appear to be. I’m just curious to know what makes people automatically believe K. Michelle’s story? Is it the thought that lying about domestic violence is inconceivable to some people? I don’t know what really happened and I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I do but it is disturbing to say the least how quickly Memphitz has been labeled a "wife beater", in the court of public opinion. Some people might not like me for saying this but if women can lie about being raped they can lie about domestic violence. I’m not saying K. Michelle is a liar. Quite possibly, K.Michelle might have even been able to file a sexual harrassment case against the label because he was in effect her supervisor (hence the reason most employers frown upon that sort of the thing)which can also explain why the label let her have the rights to her masters and let her out the contract even if money was missing.

It is not impossible for the man to have put his hands on her. If he didn’t do it, it is for him to prove and he will have his day in court. The question is why wait for so long to say or do anything about it? I keep reading how loud and abbrasive K’Michelle is but if you think about it….could it be because she has been stigmatized by society? Or could it be because people keep calling her a liar saying it never happened even though they weren’t there? Could it be because she has been stigmatized by society for even speaking up about domestic abuse which society had branded as a taboo topic that shouldn’t be discussed in public. No one can ever fully know a person to say they are not abusive. Alot of people….family members and friends will find reasons and excuses to cover up for the abuser and blame the abused. The abused often doesn’t report the incidents for various reasons. It doesn’t matter to what degree a person was abused physically it should never happen. It doesn’t matter what was said to the person….words should never get them to the point to put their hands on someone. And a womans physical strength will never be comparable to a mans. A person will never be able to understand a situation such as this until they go through it or know someone who does and when that happens opinions will change because abuse no matter it being mental, physical, or verbal, happens all the time especially within our black relationships. I believe all of us on here have experienced it or knows someone who has so to be on here with such a rigid attitude towards K’Michelle telling what happened to her is appauling to me. It shows how small minded and insensitive people can be about a situation they have no evidence themselves to say it did not happen and the only way they could is if they were there. So if you weren’t there be quiet and hold your peace. I don’t know either of the two but I have seen what being stigmatized by a group of people can do to a person because they don’t do what others think they should do. It will make you defend yourself. And if your calling K’Michelle loud and abbrasive….this is why….because of the mean nasty things that are being said about her from people who don’t know her or what happened. Not just that night but in their entire relationship period. None of us laid in that bed with them, or where there in any of their personal intimate times together so we don’t know what happened. But I do know one thing….if any of this is true and is proven to be so, that man is not only going to be a liar, but known to be able to manipulate the masses with good looks and a few words. And that’s exactly what abusers do lie and manipulate people in to believing that they aren’t in public who they really are behind closed doors.
Thank YOU very much. Unless you’ve been abused you can’t say how a woman should feel about it. Counseling helps some but not all. For me, this would be the next best thing to taking the bastard out. I think KMichele is talented,real and unafraid. In the hood there’s the "Snitches get Stiches" attitude. Same goes with abuse and surprisingly comes MOSTLY from women. :What did you DO to him?!".."Call him"…"Tell him you sorry and YOU won’t do that no mo’"…" Think about the chirren!"…"You gotta’ understand that’s a MAN! Just got a copy of the Complaint. It was filed in the U.S.D.C. N.D. GA. Case No.: 1:12-mi-99999-UNA. K. Michelle is not a named defendant, and the "defamatory statement" has nothing to do with him hitting her but that K. Michelle "falsely claimed that Mr. Wright broke numerous laws on multiple occasions," and that "Mr. Wright’s lack of professionalism and expertise as a music executive was the predominant reason for her stalled career." He is claiming lost earnings from June of 2012 because of the impairment to his reputation.
