What’s a sexologist you ask? Well according to WiseGeek, it’s not just a title, there’s actually real “work” involved:
A sexologist is someone concerned with the scholarly investigation of human sexuality, from normal sexual development to sexual pathologies such as sexual abuse. The field of sexology is highly interdisciplinary, incorporating knowledge from a number of academic pursuits, and sexologists can work in a range of settings. Some sexologists are primarily interested in conducting studies and clinical trials to understand more about human sexuality, for example, while others offer therapy to people with sexual dysfunction, drawing upon their sexology experience to help people.
For some sexologists, a large part of their work involves educating people about human sexuality and encouraging honest discussions about issues such as communication in relationships, healthy sexual development, and methods for preventing the spread of disease.
This “sexology” stuff is serious business! There’s even an “American Board of Sexology” that gives certification to applicants after they have completed several hours of training.
Those meeting these stringent requirements are awarded the designation of Board Certified Diplomates of the American Board of Sexology.
Among the first Diplomates to be Board Certified included sexology pioneers Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Dr. William Masters, Dr. William Granzig, Dr. John Money, Dr. Helen Singer Kaplan, Dr. Albert Ellis, Dr. Wardell Pomeroy and Dr. Erwin Haeberle.

It’s sad people don’t take sex as seriously as Kandi does. I applaud Kandi taking this step because it shows that (aside from giving healthy sex advice) she wants to help people be more careful with who they have intercourse with and also help those who have been sexually abused. I don’t see why this is such a big deal.
Yes, her show is explicit, but it’s late night (meaning that she targets an adult audience, and she made that perfectly clear from jump street, so I don’t understand the hate), and what harm is she causing by selling sex toys? The last I checked, you don’t get pregnant or an std from using one.

Based on the comments on this blog, I’m not sure what so many see wrong with Kandi pursuing this career field.
I personally don’t think anyone is hatin’ on Kandi. Anyone relevant that is. Kandi is gon’ do Kandi no matter WHAT anyone ays.And yes, she reads these blogs. Kandi as I see it is a very insightful entreprenuer. She looks before she leaps. In that, she takes in her locale,clientele, age interestested etc. She’s not about LOSING money. If a gain aint’ in it then SHE aint’ in it. That being said, not everything is for everybody. I personally can do without the "products" but if ever I were interested, yes I would purchase Kandi’s product because she IS a perfectionist. The number of peeps and diversity of peeps she stated on reunion show more than likely what it was at that time,and because of her seemingly innocent personna and that damn disarming smile, no doubt she’ll be at top of THIS game (which was white folk inc.). My take is this: SEX SELLS. Period. Kandi has found a niche that is paying her. I also give her a little bit of kudos for at least getting some form of credentials because there are too many "experts" and self-proclaimed gurus out here giving advice that’s nothing but OPINIONS you can get from anyone off the streets with no factual evidence to back it up.
HOWEVER, Kandi and her obsession with sex is a bit uncomfortable to watch for me. She gets a little too raunchy for me and it’s unlady like. You can talk about sex and sex advice in a classy way, but she gets too trashy at times.
