Sultry songstress Rihanna was the next popular person on Oprah‘s to-do list for her “Next Chapter” series, which aired last night (August 19, 2012) on The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN).
The 24-year-old performer spoke with the media mogul while giving her a tour of her hometown in Barbados.
Rihanna spoke of her loves for abusive ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, although she never admitted that the two are still seeing each other in secret.
“We love each other and we probably always will, and that’s not anything that we’re going to try to change,” Rihanna told Oprah. She confessed that it’s hard to see him:
“It’s awkward because I still love him. My stomach drops and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me. I have to maintain that and suppress it.”

“I can’t tell people how to feel about it. They’re entitled to feel angry because it wasn’t a good thing that happened,” Rihanna explained. “But I have forgiven him.”
“I think he was the love of my life,” Rihanna confessed.
“He was my first love and I see that he loved me the same way. I truly love him. The main thing for me is he’s at peace. I’m not at peace if he’s not happy or he’s still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds that peace.”

I loved the whole story. She kept it real about Chris. We all know she still loves him. When you truely love someone you cant just shut the love off like that. I loved to see her ride through her island also and everyone waves to her and speaks to her. Thats bomb right there.

It’s obvious they still love each other. They probably love each other even more now because they can’t be together. It’s wrong in the eyes of society. It’s only making them love each other that much more. I feel eventually they will get back together because they won’t be able to suppress it any longer.
If they can get past it then everyone else should too.

content. Alot of people don’t understand that this is typical behavior of a person who has been abused. They feel for and are sympathetic for their abuser. Not saying that she doesn’t love him but I understood why she feels she still needs too.
i loved her realness, however , after 3 years, it’s time to move on from chris brown, if my husband told me he was still in love or had a love for ANY of his ex’s it would be a problem. i don’t think that you should sit on national tv, and say how someone else feel, she dont know if chris brown still love her or will always love her. she should have spoken only for herself, because to me it’s disrespectful to speak in that manner when the person has clearly moved on. rihanna needs to move on, she need to get chris breezy out of her head and MOVE ON! if she don’t then she will always be an unhappy wreck! It is easy for us to tell Rihanna to move on. We do not know what he hsa been telling her behind closed doors. And yes a man can move on faster than a female can. I see Karruche as the rebound because it looks like to me he did not allow time to heal before moving on to the next. I have seen it plenty of times when a person both male and female move on after a breakup a few weeks to a month later and parade around like all is good. If you truly love someone it never goes away. Loving someone and being in love is two different things. And apparently she love’s him and still is in love with him.

When you are young you mistake a lot of things as love. You are always gonna feel a certain way about your first love, thats just the way it is. But I personally think its just infatuation, they love the idea of being happy with each other. I mean statistics show that victims tend to sympathize with their abusers and thats exactly what she’s doing. Ive seen this happen plenty of times. I mean Im not saying that people cant change but I still dont think enough time has passed for them to completely filter their hearts. Im sure in 5 years she wont feel the same way.
She needed to do this interview desperately,because through the magic of television my(and others) whole perception of Robyn aka notorious Rhianna has changed
for the better. She seems like a lovely young woman in her real personal life,but I hope she will continue moving forward and NEVER reconcile with Chris Brown on a romantic level again however; in secret I believe she already has which is why she’s so emotional.
Easier said than done to not love someone. I applaud her honesty, great interview.
