Chad “OchoCinco” Johnson was NOT a happy camper when he was released from jail yesterday after his arrest for allegedly “head butting” Evelyn Lozada this past weekend.

Just hours after his release from jail on $2,500 bond, Johnson was unceremoniously cut from his position on the Miami Dolphins, and first year head coach Joe Philbin says it wasn’t this one incident that caused their decision.

“With any type of these decisions, it was not an easy one,” Philbin said.

“It was not reactive nor was it based on one single incident.”

Johnson was charged with simple domestic battery, a misdemeanor.  The Dolphins have cleaned out Chad’s locker while his new wife may be preparing to clean out his pockets after she reportedly received stitches for lacerations received in the incident.

But was this all just reality show drama gone wrong? Peep game…

The confrontation came just barely a month after Johnson married Evelyn, who is “Basketball Wives” resident drama queen/bottle thrower.

The couple’s wedding is also set to be aired as a VH1 special called “Chad & Ev”

34-year-old Johnson had been battling for a spot on the Dolphins after a disappointing season with the New England Patriots in 2011 and was said to be in the best shape of his life and poised to rejuvenate his career.

But get this… here’s the GAG!!!

During episode one of HBO’s “Hard Knocks: Training Camp With The Miami Dolphins,” which first aired August 7th, Chad makes mention that he’s about to go get arrested…..

At approximately 40:39 into the show Chad says…

“Hey Stu… I promise I’m gonna get arrested while we’re off.”

The power of life & death is in the tounge ladies & gentlemen… 😯

Was this arrest merely coincidental? Did the stress and pressure of returning the field cause Chad to explode in anger?

Or was this whole situation blown out of proportion after a stunt for their new reality show went awry?

**UPDATE 8/13/12 3:00pm**: If this drama was manufactured for the show it’s a wrap …. VH1 has officially ditched it!

“Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series ‘Ev and Ocho’ from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.” (source)
