It’s barely been a month since Chad ‘OchoCinco’ Johnson and Evelyn Lozada jumped the broom, but the newlyweds are already in the news for a domestic dispute.

Apparently the newlyweds aren’t in the “honeymoon” phase anymore… and it was all over a box of condoms!

According to Miami local news 10, Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson was arrested Saturday evening on domestic violence charges.
Davie Police Department captain Dale Engle confirmed the arrest, however the police report was not immediately made available.
The incident took place in a vehicle Saturday night after Johnson’s exhibition game with his new team the Miami Dolphins.
Johnson, who started Saturday night’s 20-7 exhibition loss to Tampa Bay, allegedly head-butted his new wife, Evelyn Lozada, during the argument and when cops arrived on the scene, Lozada, reportedly was found with lacerations on her forehead.
Johnson and his wife went to a restaurant for dinner. They returned home and she found a receipt for a box of condoms, an argument ensued. Engle said.
“It gets pretty heated,” Engle said.
“By the time they get home here in Davie it’s pretty heated. She alleges he leaned over and head butted her. He says she leaned towards him and that they butted heads. Needless to say she has a good laceration on her forehead.” (source)
Johnson was promptly arrested and charged in the incident.

Since entering the NFL in 2001 Johnson, a Miami native who lives in Davie, has kept a pretty clean arrest record and has never been arrested. He was arrested once in college for a domestic dispute.
Johnson and Lozada were married on July 4 and their wedding is supposed to be part of a VH1 Reality Series that begins in September called Eve & Ocho.

I was so touched today while in church I saw a young married couple with their son and the way the father lovingly had his arm around the son, I instantly said a pray for their union. Especially with the younger generation today it’s acceptable to have just a baby momma/daddy status.

OK, Something stinks in this story. The college arrest was for being loud and ignorant and kicking a door. That I will chalk up to immaturity. It has been almost 14 years since that incident.
