You may or may not remember, but back in February I told y’all to brace yourselves for a new reality show called “Real Mistresses of Atlanta.”
The cast of characters feature Maliah, Rosee, Mary Jane, Sarah and Branden…. yes, there is a MALE “mistress” among them. *sigh*

As if “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” and “Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta” weren’t enough to tarnish our sweet peach… they stuck us with some “real mistresses.”

When I wrote that post, I never in a gazillion years thought the show would actually come to fruition, but ummm…. yeah Houston Atlanta, we have a problem!

No word yet on what network will be standing behind this project but if naked bimbos and expletives are going to be accepted on prime time, we have a problem FOR REAL.
One thing I could give MempHiTz props for is that he didn’t try to fool y’all like all those other shows trying to pass off baby mamas and girlfriends for “wives” and “housewives.” He called it like it is… (as if that makes it any better).

The thing that kills me is that all of these ratchet Atl reality shows are being produced by people who are not natives and are starring people who are not natives yet they want to stamp it "Atlanta". As a native it’s frustrating to have to defend my city b/c what you see on TV is not what Atl is really about. Atlanta was better before all of these low budget transplants moved here (can’t afford to move to NY or LA), the ones that like to live beyond their means but look foolish doing so.

The only good thing I can say is – it is what it is. It is not like all of the housewives shows, where most of them are not housewives and a lot of them are broke. BUT that being said, this is garbage. I will not watch this hot mess.
I hate reality shows with a passion. I refuse to watch Love & Basketball Atlanta and any of the Housewives of Anything, and I hate Basketball Wives with a passion, but I’m probably going to watch this. I’m sure it will be filled with all kinds of buffoonery and other embarrassments but at least they’re not touting themselves to be anything other than what they are…someone who will f* your man (or mine) for a come up.
