The lip gloss entrepreneur and BFF’s to RHOA’s NeNe Leakes, is facing an embarrassing setback which may be salt on the wound for fired “Basketball Wives” star.
Jenn allegedly owes at least 3 years (yes YEARS) worth of payments on her 2006 Bentley and a lawsuit has been filed against her by the finance company to recover the vehicle.
Lawd…. another day another reality show “wife” facing repossession! *sigh*

According to TMZ, Toyota Motor Credit Corporation in Syosset, NY just filed a lawsuit against Williams, claiming she stopped making payments on her used 2006 white Bentley back in 2009 and now the finance company wants the car back.
According to the lawsuit, TMCC has made several attempts to peacefully repossess the vehicle … but was unsuccessful. Now, it wants a court to FORCE Williams to give back the car.
TMCC is also demanding Williams pay the entire outstanding balance on the car — $92,310.
A rep for Williams tells TMZ, “Jennifer hasn’t been served documents in reference to this lawsuit. Anything related to community property acquired during the marriage, such as the car, is an issue that is currently being addressed in her divorce proceedings.”
Maybe Jennifer’s rich b*tch friend Nene Leakes can bail her out.
If not, perhaps retired “housewife” Sheree Whitfield can give Williams some advice on remaining calm cool and collected in the face of an embarrassing repossession.

You shouldnt report things of this nature. Jennifer has the money to pay the car but its tied up on in the divorce preceedings. Any divorce lawyer worth a pinch a salt will advice you not to pay on the car. That car will be paid in full by Eric, so why should she pay on it. Bentley nor the dealership is not hurting for money which is why they havent repo’d the car. She comes from money, has her own money aside from Eric and owns property (well inherited from deceased family members). If she married for money she wouldnt have married a ball player. Those behind the scences make much much more than does in front of the camera.
I am not so sure a lawyer would advise not paying on outstanding debt thereby messing with your credit situation.
If anything, you would keep making the payments and get reimbursed as part of the settlement. However, creditors want their money as agreed and when agreed.
Not paying is one tactic but there is a lot of collateral damage when accounts go into collections.
Good point. I have seen "old money" use this tactic quite often so maybe it is handled differently on a state by state basis. Divorce laws are vastly different. In LA you automatically get half at the 10 year mark, which is why some wives come up missing at year 9.

Its possible to stop making payments and still have the car. Being that she is always on the move it is hard to catch her. Also, people have garages and you cannot just go in someone’s garage. There needs to be a writ of replevin and due to the nature of her work it is hard to have her served and it would cost the finance company more to find you. No attorney will ever advise that you stop making payments. Also, Eric is not mentioned which tells me that her name is the only one on the financing. If Jennifer is wealthy why finance a depreciating asset? Most would purchase the car outright such as her friend (Nene)

If its tied up in the divorce, then I understand why it hasn’t been paid. If Eric is expected to pay, then he should pay. However, I do understand the finance company wants their money and its the Williams personal problem. But what I don’t understand is why finance vehicles, houses, etc if you have the cash to pay for it outright?

Typically one wants to avoid paying cash for houses, autos etc because your money is not working for you in that sitution.
In a decent economy or with the right know-how, you could take that large amount of money and invest in a portfolio, real estate, etc (opposed to paying cash for a car) and then use the returns or interests from that investment to make the monthly payments on the house or car. So as long as your return or interest from the investment exceeds the interest that the bank is charging you on the car or house then your money is working for you. It is a ‘win win.’ More money makes more money.
On the flip side, if you gave Bentley all the money upfront then all you have is a depreciating asset. That money is wasted because you aren’t getting any return.
I understand all that but I don’t believe that was the case in this situation.
Only the people who have never been divorced or probably married even don’t quite understand why the vehicle hasn’t been paid. If Jen continued to make payments she risked not seeing a dime of that money back. We don’t know the circumstances of the agreement for the vehicle. But if its a joint asset Eric is liable as well. Divorce isn’t just about signing a peice of paper and being done. There is alot involved when you have joint property, businesses and etc. Or anything you inherited while being legally married. No attorney will ever tell her to stop paying for anything because it then becomes criminal. If this is the case why did she give up their marital home? It works the same way. An attorney would surely advise not to move out of the home. Jennifer continuously says that they have no prenup. Eric was a basketball player which means all his money was guaranteed. Jennifer is the only party names in the lawsuit and now wants to stick him with the bill. Things will get sticky especially if he can establish they were separate during the time of purchase and we do not know when the car was purchased. Since she is the only party it is very likely she purchased the car when they were engaged using money he gave her, no doubt.
it doesn’t matter if money is tied up in divorce matters, the car hasn’t been paid on since 2006, here it is 2012, divorce started back in 2011. she is a pretty lady, but that is all she think about instead of handling her business. actually her & eric could have work it out, but she kept listening to single friend Evelyn instead of working on her marriage, then Evelyn went & got engaged. but he should have to pay for it since it was obtained during the marriage. too busy wearing Chanel necklaces, Valentino jumpsuits, CL stilettos and Hermes Birkin handbags, instead of paying the bills.
If anyone read the part about how the Bentley was acquired to her via the divorce proceedings, which does not even seem like they are complete, means that this was probably a car that Eric once paid for her and being that it was like 3 yrs ago when they started having those marital problems that he probably just stop paying for it. Sigh People divorce, just like income tax Tim is NOT a free payday. If she is self made she needs nothing from him because they have no children so why should he pay for things? It takes 2 to ruin a marriage. From Jennifer’s own mouth she felt nothing for him and had doubts at the alter. They were married in December 2007 and have been separated (out of Jenn’s mouth) for most of the marriage. Her name is on the financing so therefore she is still obligated because she entered into contract with the bank. The bank does not care about divorce she has to put that in the divorce petition and then if she is awarded get her money back.
