Brandy Norwood is throwing her former duet partner Monica Brown under the bus after their single “It All Belongs to Me” failed to meet expectations.
And now their upcoming tour has been scrapped. But Brandy is placing the blame for the failed tour squarely on Monica, saying Monica is more focused on her sons and husband, Shannon Brown, than she is on touring.
But that’s not true, according to my source. He told me there were issues with the top billing (whose name would go first) as well as money issues (who would get paid more). He said Brandy derailed the tour by demanding top billing and more cash upfront.

One of the many things that’s stopping the ladies from amicably touring together is an argument about who would receive top billing.
Monica’s album, New Life , is in stores now and available for download via iTunes, so it would make perfect sense that she would receive top billing, but industry insiders say that Brandy feels that she’s the “Queen B” and won’t budge on being listed first.
“Brandy thinks she is a bigger brand than Monica,” said my source. “She has more shows than Monica, she was the star of Moesha.”
Celebrity blogger SandraRose notes that Monica was merely being used as a stepping stone to ultimately push Brandy’s album. It makes complete sense too, since it seems like Monica’s album is getting NO PLAY AT ALL.

You know honestly from growing up watching these two women and their careers and the different paths they have both went down I can honestly say that Mo is the more mature one and always has been and that has always been her image. While Bran muffin has always been packaged as the squeaky clean virginal innocent R&B princess and I honestly think that those glory days are behind these ladies when it was the glory days of their careers they were winning and now I think perhaps its time to focus on different ventures at this time in their lives they are no longer teens and their core fan base has grown with them but….all good things must come to an end.

Monica has had more recent hit songs than Brandy but Brandy has had a more sucessful career with her acting and singing. Brandy had her own sit com as well as acting with Diana Ross in a movie (which yielded a hit song)and Whitney Houston not to mention many other acting credits. Monica has done some acting but not on Brandy’s level. If it wasn’t for the car accident and the debacle with that marriage I believe Brandy would be much farther along in her career. She seems to be making a successful comeback. They both have nice singing voices. Both of them really need top billing at this point in their careers.
The reality show that Monica did actually gave her career a boost and exposed her to many people that didn’t know her or her music. If it wasn’t for that show she wouldn’t have had those last hit songs "Love All Over Me", Everything To Me" etc. I think Monica is a excellent singer but her song selections are all wrong.
It bothers me that the media and people always put artist against each other. I don’t believe there is a beef until they say it. Secondly, Brandy is underated!!!! Her last two albums didn’t do as well as the others but it’s not because they weren’t good albums because everything i’ve ever heard from Brandy has been good. I think it’s her promotion and just people being small minded when it comes to good music. Brandy is a vocal genius, her tone is unmatched, her runs are always flawless and her backgrounds and harmonies are ridiculous! Still wondering when the last time Brandy had a concert. Much less sold out one. Forget concert…how about a show then? I’ve been to Monica’s shows in two seperate cities. Both a sold out house. She does her old and new music and her Whitney tribute. Quite a good show. If Brandy would resurrect the "I wanna be down" album at an old school concert she may be able to sell out a show too. Besides acting and reality shows I haven’t really seen her do much. But maybe thats because I’m not really checking for her either. All my point is…she isn’t hot NOW.
