Stars from the network’s new and returning series, alongside celebrity guests, grooved to T.I. at the music fueled party but could the hyped performance be among Tip’s last?
Details + video below…
In a recent interview with “The Breakfast Club,” T.I. issued a vague but serious explanation as to why rap music isn’t the same as it was when he started out, and why he wants to quit the game.
This is what everyone fails to realize. I want out. I want out, man.
What the game is going to and what has evolved into from a personality standpoint, it goes against what I represent. What I embody, this game contradicts that. I want out. I’m in it because I love music and I have obligations, contractually.

T.I. goes on to give a lil more insight as to why he’s made that decision, adding:
It was at one time, this music was about speaking to the people who felt like you feel. Now, the people I’m speaking to, they don’t necessarily feel like how I feel. In my day, if you were rapping about something you weren’t really living, that was a strike against you. You were held accountable.
Nowadays, nobody even expects you to live up to the things you rap about. That goes against what I represent, what I stand for. So if they outsell me, then that’s just all the more better for me to fade to the back and cross my legs on my desk.
To be clear, Tip is NOT throwing in the towel right this second, but he’s clearly open to the possibility.
Will you miss Tip if he decides to retire from rap?

DEF! Love TIP! He is truly one of kind! He has dropped enough bangers to leave me satisfied, but we can never get enough of TIP!
No!
Absolutely Not,
Yes I would miss him….I love T.I….he’s not perfect but he is humble and real in his raps.
Im surprised at some of these comments wow.TI is like the last of a dying breed in Hip Hop today.
I hope he just meant he needs a break. I like him and his raps.
Hell NO!
TI is a hypocrite. Umm snitching goes against any hip hop or gangsta rap. That’s not a part of the culture. Uhh bringing in some white girl that looks like she mocking black female rapper goes against what hip hop and gangsta rap is. TtI just wants so{ publicity for upcoming album. Please Ti how long was it before u got on…. Plus when he did he was hot but turned into a snithc then u wanna leave nigga please. Well leave so sum one that wants the opportuniry can get on and change the mind set of whete hip hop rap is going have a seat fathee TI
Thats what they all say when they can’t get back on top of their game. Bow out now instead of continuing to put out bap or lukewarm music. Oh well toodles
I’ve loved T.I. since his mixtape days and he speaks the truth. There are huge rappers out there who claim to sell this and that, lied about being a correctional officer and then told the truth. Back in the day, his album sells would have been next to nothing. These days, a good beat and a descent flow is all you need. Rick Ross!
No only because if this is his decision i respect it and clearly he has bigger and better plans…..do u Clifford
I can’t believe people say no to the Kang of the South… I would def miss the homie @Tip
Is he serious? That garbage that is signed to his label? Yeah he is right hip hop has changed but instead of educating he is contributing to the change. Kang of the South? Yeah he used to be.
I’ll miss his music definitely. I love him and he’s made a great contribution with his flow.
Rap is fake now. People are rapping about anything. It don’t even empower people to the same status. TI is so right
[...] who recently admitted he may have outgrown the rap game and wants “OUT”, still appreciates good music and took his boo to rock out to the world’s most sensitive [...]
Well I say if you want out get out.. that is a personal choice.. don’t talk about it be about it. i don’t enjoy hip hop much anymore either. The heyday for me ended with the 90′s.. really the 80′s!
