It’s been 14 years since the two topped the charts with the Grammy award-winning hit “The Boy Is Mine,” and Monica & Brandy reunite on wax and film in the Chris Robinson-directed video for the single.
In the ‘explosive’ clip, dedicated to the memory of their mentor Whitney Houston, the divas join forces to kick their no-good men to the curb, reclaiming their pricey possessions including cars, clothes, and computers.
Monica discussed the single on Atlanta radio recently, where she revealed:
It is not anything like ‘The Boy Is Mine. At this point, this is where you’re taking your power back and we gon’ come together.
This is totally different than that era and I hope it speaks to all the people who are making diss tracks and going hard on each other. Come together and watch the numbers move.

I love Monica, wasn’t feeling Brandy to much. Brandy voice doesn’t sound to hot on this song, and Monica’s voice over powered Brandy’s voice. I also really loved the fashions in the video.

Brand really looks beautiful her hair the make up the close fit her really cute her look has been very on point lately. I love Monica and Brandy’s voices but I still dont like this song. The lyrics and subject just dont do it for me. When you think of Before You Walk Out My Life, Why I Love You So Much, Full Moon, Broken Hearted I mean they were girls singing that real grown up ish and this song just seems beneath them to me. Im glad Brandy is going to work wirh Darkchild on 2/11 they always make good music together. Im just not feeling the songs that Monica has been releasing for New Life. I hope she has some surprises on there tho.

This song is for teenagers and definitely not for Monica and Brandy’s adult fans. Why would these women- with a husband and a boyfriend- along with kid(s)- Brandy a daughter- sing this type of song? This song is beneath them and their growth. You didn’t give the irresponsible men the deuces when you had them, so why all of a sudden sing about giving them the deuces? Monica, you let Rocko use you and left you with two sons, so why sing about it now when you never left him? he left you! Otherwise, you would still be with him. smh on this one.
@mighdee_fly..I agree totally. Brandy has come into her own as a vocalist. Monica was good but I don’t see much growth over the years with her voice. She started out sounding old and she still sounds the same way. And what’s up with her eye? Looking a little stray.
This video was good. i really enjoyed watching it. Monica was giving me her classic Miss Thang that ppl fell in love with back in 95. her growth and maturity is evident, but shes still that sassy diva that shes been known to be. brandys looks were pulled off well. in fact, this is the best shes looked since the 90s. her manerisms & such are a bit extra to me… and it really comes off unbelievable. but overall its nice to see them together again

Really people! I think this a great intro.. for a comeback. Besides if you have a life, its never to late to say deuces when needed, thats part of life in general. I’ll go ahead and infuse something positive. The song has a great vibe. I think its a great way to get fans going..anticipate whats to come. Video : Fashion is great, I am both Brandy’s and Monica’s fan. Brandy looks great,matter of fact this is the best Ive seen in a while.
