Remember Brandon White, the 20-year old Atlanta gay man who was the “star” of a viral video where he was beaten by three men outside a neighborhood store for wearing “skinny jeans” while the men also yelled gay slurs at him?

Well White reportedly lied about some key details of the assault!

Brandon spoke out about the incident at a press conference where he told reporters he did NOT know his attackers or why they jumped him.
I have never seen those guys before. I go to that store plenty times. I don’t bother anybody I don’t talk to anybody. No, I have never seen those guys before.

It was all a dream… reportedly White knew his attackers quite well!
In fact, it is now believed that Brandon had been taunting the “gangbangers” about their sexuality.
Members of Change Atlanta, a gay rights organization, have brought up some information that sheds more light on the bizarre assault case.
In their quest for details surrounding what they originally THOUGHT was a gay hate crime, Change Atlanta interviewed several witnesses in the Pittsburgh community who know White and his alleged attackers and they discovered shocking new details about White’s prior relationship with some of his attackers.
It has now been revealed that the attack was not a random hate crime against an “innocent” victim, the motivation was actually REVENGE.
Brandon was agitating these young men about personally exposing them for being DL gay – on the down low possibly gay.
The young men responded because they don’t want their families to know.
Dorian Moragne, Christopher Cain and Dareal Williams have all been apprehended and are currently in custody regarding the assault.
One suspect, Dorian Moragne has spoken up and confirmed that they knew White.
He was very clear about being sure that Brandon White in fact knew the other attackers in question.
The attack on White allegedly centered around a video White had on his cell phone. If you recall, that viral video of the attack shows one of the men grab White’s phone during the beating.
It’s a video of somebody performing a sexual act with one or a few of these young men. That’s why the cell phone was a target.
They didn’t just beat him up because he was gay.
Devin Ward was among the first in the community to speak out against the beating, fully supporting White when he first saw the beating video on TV, now he feels White may owe the community an apology.
If indeed this is shown to be truthful in that Brandon did have prior interaction with these young men, Brandon needs to come forward and make his wrong right.
Atlanta Police is still investigating the case and while it is still an “assault” and a crime was still committed whether or not White knew his attackers, this new information is definitely interesting.
White has not commented on these new developments and the FBI is also still investigating as to whether or not a hate crime was committed.
So my question to YOU is.
If it’s true that Brandon White was tormenting “downlow” gangbangers with blackmail video, did he deserve a beatdown?

I knew it was more to this, it’s so many open gays in Atlanta, why all of a sudden a crime like this. Not saying its impossible, but Atlanta is a far more tolerable place for homosexuals than others. But all these guys need counseling and should be prosecuted for their involvement in this crime. White, even though a victim, should also be charged for conspiracy, tampering, and lying to police.

No,he didnt deserve the beatdown.But he does deserve to catch charges for lying. He upset many and it was uncalled for. Now,authorities gonna base his actions on every other gay beating case they get. His lie is like the stupid ass continuously crying wolf….so yeah. It’s an assault and that is still a crime. It also explains why White did not come forward initially.
I think if White knew his attackers and was trying to blackmail them, than it sheds some light on the attacker’s motives. But this does not condone what they did to White.
And yes White needs to admit to the truth, if, indeed, the truth is that he knew his attackers and had been trying to blackmail them. I agree with someone above: they should and will be charged and prosecuted.
But revenge is a lot less devious than a hate crime and should be prosecuted differently.

No, he did not deserve a beat down. These grown men should’ve behaved as such, and ignored Brandon. Anytime you are filmed performing any sexual act with someone that you aren’t committed to, you must realize that video could possibly fall into the wrong hands. That is totally their fault.
It does explain why Brandon never went to the police about this incident, and didn’t want anyone to know. I don’t like the fact that he lied to the world, and played on everyone’s sympathy for the gay community. That isn’t right.

It’s a shame the young men felt they needed to resort to violence to keep their sexuality a secret. It’s really no one else’s business if they’re gay, bisexual or heterosexual not even their family members. If ppl. love you they love you regardless to who you choose to sleep with as long as you’re not hurting anyone why do ppl. feel they have the right to be overly concerned with whoever anyone sleeps with? This is sad for everyone, they shouldn’t have assaulted him and he shouldn’t have threatened to expose their sexual exploits. Homos beating up other homos. Well that happens more regularly than you might think. There is a lot of violence within the gay community that they don’t want you to know about. Lots of domestic violence among couples.
All of these men give their community a bad look.
So why would this Brandon White man threaten to expose his friends as that is what they appear to be? If he is protecting unsuspecting members of the community, say girlfriends or children of these men then perhaps he is justifiable for maintaining the cell phone video. If, however, he was using the video for some dishonorable purpose or means to extort then he basically asked to get his ass beaten.

I knew something sounded strange, about the victim "not wanting to report the crime " but why oh way would they post the video of the assault on-line ? that is where they messed up, oh well, like the other person said, what is done in the dark always comes to light…..
I thought this could possibly be the case, that he taunted his attackers and thats why they hurt him. I just hate when we see a video clip of something, or someone may say something and we here a clip of what someone said or look at a snap shot or a piece of video, and draw a conclusion on the story. We have noooo idea, there is ALWAYS two sides to EVERY story, don’t be soooooo quick to jump to conclusion. We tend to automatically defend what we perceive to be the weaker person. I do believe the attackers should be punished for their crime against the guy, but he also should be help accountable for provoking his attackers.

As a gay black guy (I live in NYC and not ATL tho) I hear of this all too often: a scorned gay man who wants to out another man on the DL for whatever reason.These fools need to stop because this is what happens. some people even get killed over this.
