i saw pictures of monica all up dancing and laughing at clive davis party, while Whitney Houston up on the 4th flr, so i am not so sure about her doing the tribute. it is already done,so. Chaka Khan is the only one that i am really feeling on the whole thing.

I was looking on youtube and Monica has Always done a tribute to Whitney during her shows. Monica can really sing. I would have liked to see her be part of the Grammys tribute because of the love her and Whitney had for each other.
People grow up. It’s called a contract. You can’t just cancel a large party like that just because someone dies, or you’re ass gets sued. I’m sure Clive Davis’ name is on this party, but he doesn’t actually run things–just like Donald Trump. A figure head.

I just watched Monica’s tribute to Whitney above (while she was ALIVE) and it gave me chills. Monica really did love Whitney and did what we all should do. Show appreciation while the person can hear it and feel it. Good for you Monica! I have a new found respect for you and your music. This was beautiful. Thanks Michelle for posting this! Correction "Aries". The pictures that you are referring too are from 2010, when Monica was nominated for a Grammy. Brandy and Monica were scheduled to sing at the pre-grammy party but didn’t because they were both overcome with grief. And the only pictures released with Monica & Brandy on them from this year show them both sitting down at a table together. Each person grieves in their own way.The party was actually a way of showing there respect to Whitney. This was something that she enjoyed every year. Who knows Whitney better than Clive Davis. Not only is Clive making money, but Whitney, Brandy (newly signed) and Monica are making that paper too. Monica was signed at the age of 12 and hasn’t looked back. Now that’s what you call living out your purpose in this life. Peace.
Jhud couldn’t hit those notes during the Whitney tribute. Off night I suppose. Monica would have blown it out. Monica is incredibly talented. She’s a great singer and I also think that she could act, if she chose that path. I’m sure there will more tributes to Whitney down the road and I would love to see Monica, Kim Burrell, Mariah and Jennifer Holiday come out to honor her.

Atl, Monica should have sang, but it was politics on who was chosen to sing. Jhud sang it to deep and 1 1/2 minutes.
Not from Atlanta, but been listening to Monica for Decade( notice how many years) so my vote is for her.
I prefer Monica BUT clearly she would not have been able to make it through the song because she was too close to Whitney. She would have been crying not singing. Jennifer Hudson has sung better but she was having a hard time getting through it in rehearsal so it was tough for her.

In a previous post it was stated by many there that Monica and Brandy canceled their performance at Clives event and that 30 minutes before clue ended it he asked that someone go get the girls so he could say a thank u to them and they obliged. The photo of Monica was said to be from her jumping up shouting as the Whitney tribute took place. Judge ye not especially when you do NOT know what’s going on.
