Yuup… it’s been about fourteen years since the duo released “The Boy is Mine” and now Monica and Brandy have released “It All Belongs to Me.”
Super producer/singer/songwriter Rico Love produced the song but clearly producer Sean Garrett is feeling some kinda way about being excluded from the project, tweeting…
I’m not sure if his lil statement means the song is great or horrible… but you can judge for yourself.

The track is the first glimpse into Monica’s upcoming album, “New Life,” which is scheduled to be released April 2012.
The track will also appear in Brandy’s unnamed album, also due out this spring.

The maraca’s beat in the background makes the song’s melody scattered and confusing. I vote dump it
Sean doesn’t need to be over a song with them either…Brain M Cox IMO need to be the one that produces/writes a song with Mo and Brandy that is the kind of mature sound and lyrical arrangement they need…I REFUSE to believe they left the studio thinking "this joint is hot"

I gave it a chance and listened to it twice… I just can’t.
I think it will have to grow on me. Upon first listen, it’s got a very "to the left, to the left" vibe. I was in like 9th grade when "Boy is Mine" came out so I’m glad the ladies are back together, but I guess I was expecting something that was banging from the jump.
Vocally they slayed and can still out sing all of the girls on the radio, but the words are dumb! R&B songs usually detail why the artist feels the way they do in the hook. This song is like a poorly written Irreplaceable. I think B Cox or Darkchild would have given them a beautiful song to match their beautiful voices. Monica has not given me One song from New Life that convinces me that its going to be a good cd.Brandy you don’t need this song on your album trust me!
The lyrics definitely sucked. I tried to listen many times, but the corny Facebook part I just couldn’t get past. It seems like a last minute desperate attempt. Somebody isn’t thinking creatively enuff. Wheres Silk and Jodeci hell?

Maybe it’s the song choice but this did not do justice for either of them vocally. I did not like the duet at all. It was kind of dumb song. I think they have been out of the studio a little too long and they need to get their vocals back in tune. I’m just saying, I could have done better than this and I am no artist.
